And since I knew she was coming, I was able to use some saved credit card points to order my own Haze of Phantasm Beryl...in Peony White. I know you are saying, but isn't ..purple..the reason you wanted a Purple Beryl? Well, the truth is a) I really really like the Peony White..and I know I can paint a face on it, while I was very uncertain of my ability to paint on a darker surface. Since I have had Covid I do better working on things with a lot of contrast. I did have to ponder it overnight, though :D<p></p><p>Anyway, I did order the hoofed version. You can order her with the legs and hooves, and with both the Romantic and open eyed heads (this is the Romantic eye head), and with either the Extra legs or the simple legs (I always say get the Extra legs, it makes posing so much easier) and either a small bust or the regular bust. (both are nice, Beryl's head is a medium sized head for the slim body, so the bigger bust IMO balances her head size. They are offering faceups and body blushing as well, including the fantasy parts. I love painting hooves and I can still do them pretty well, so I am looking forward to that! The hands look different from the default hands as well. I may regret not getting the dress but I was at the top end of my budget (I bought eyes as well) and since the clothes are VERY limited I figured this would give someone else the chance to buy them.</p><p>I love Beryls so much! I like his nose :D Even more, I like his horns, and of all the fantasy parts I have owned, horns have not moved along for the simple reason they Keep The Wigs On. Especially mohair wigs, which I love-- but they are notoriously shifty, sliding off at a moment's notice. So I used some points that I had piled up at Soom and ordered the horns. I figured if they end up being too large for anyone here, Cat might have a Sard in need of horns at her place--but I think these horns are the same mold as the ones that Sophie the Beryl always wears, so they should fit any 8-9 head that you can stick magnets into. By the way, I often buy the bigger neodymium magnets from K and J magnetics in the US, they ship pretty fast, though I don't know what the pandemic has done for their supply chain.<p></p><p><a href="https://id.dollsoom.com/en/shop/persona-wenzel/">https://id.dollsoom.com/en/shop/persona-wenzel/</a></p><p><br /></p>Fishcakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04129239011581997070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6522475238241554273.post-44930964578174063022022-02-22T18:21:00.000-06:002022-02-22T18:21:03.423-06:00Suddenly, Diana<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEghVoajzyvMXlEo5cL1smQjlgdE5N6yLbCMvGG1Xt4Vkd2BZ1DieLuvUBThcTCA93jjXgv2JwLlSfXQc8imqxq7GnRIg1YZRemLnp6MPKYqLdA_UGIy9db2GkgmFinKUHBe4GG0hTx3ezWW2cBNB3j5pWiIRS203Y8EyTgOgAuVACBFCHjpQUoAe7HY3Q=s1200" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEghVoajzyvMXlEo5cL1smQjlgdE5N6yLbCMvGG1Xt4Vkd2BZ1DieLuvUBThcTCA93jjXgv2JwLlSfXQc8imqxq7GnRIg1YZRemLnp6MPKYqLdA_UGIy9db2GkgmFinKUHBe4GG0hTx3ezWW2cBNB3j5pWiIRS203Y8EyTgOgAuVACBFCHjpQUoAe7HY3Q=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /> In order to clear some room for things like...shoes...I have been downsizing my doll collection, and I have been doing pretty well (though I seem stuck at the current number). She required a lot of nursing at the end, so I stopped blogging, and then kind of fell out of the habit--Covid has also given me some eye and other problems that are ongoing, but hopefully will resolve over time. Meanwhile I have downsized the enormous crowd of dolls--I was sort of aiming for 20 dolls total, but we seem stuck at 35 ..or so :D I'm hoping this year, maybe in the fall, things will have stabilized enough for covid that doll meets will happen again, I miss them! Meanwhile I plan this year to sort through the boxes of doll things and match up clothes and accessories with the correct doll, because stuff has gotten scattered all around over time, as dolls have come and gone. I also need to do my picture inventory for 2022!<p></p><p>Work has also been very busy, I work with a wonderful work partner who keeps me more or less focused and on deadline, and we have been turning in store items almost one a week for the last couple of months We do a mix of 3d models for Poser and add-ons for models in Daz Studio. It's really fun for something that pays :D Here's one thing we did kind of as a quick Valentine's Day product, some pink and cute sweaters. The design here is by Andy Boys. She's such a great designer, I wish I had some of these for real clothes!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjUxhSmwTYPDfQnn_ae1RH02C0FZCzx0o1kgabPdf6TXF2v_gh05pwZhR7wDt_JQpS0RxrGrDubX2Ts6yKfI56eKgQpr-YYRln23Z3RKITmM1e3FxG7O-FBlZ4on7ukq6AHgGNVFHrkGBoLSetwRQ8kw_NPADRJ4HL9s_kyOpg041M2mqBMq1DvlViIfg=s1600" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjUxhSmwTYPDfQnn_ae1RH02C0FZCzx0o1kgabPdf6TXF2v_gh05pwZhR7wDt_JQpS0RxrGrDubX2Ts6yKfI56eKgQpr-YYRln23Z3RKITmM1e3FxG7O-FBlZ4on7ukq6AHgGNVFHrkGBoLSetwRQ8kw_NPADRJ4HL9s_kyOpg041M2mqBMq1DvlViIfg=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>(These models are secretly dolls in computer graphic form. Unpainted, because at the time Covid was making it hard to get faceups. Wish me luck in painting her up today :D Soom has made a few really good changes in how they make dolls--I wish they had done these years ago because some of the simplest changes will help the most. The new certificates have the actual name of the doll on them! I can't tell you how many times I have mixed up Soom certificates here and had to flail around to match the correct card with the correct doll.<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0epfaqf8qSImJ3ZVTUGVY_TZVhuMHrHhof6RlIJDfYq-wcS-AAaFNw-OtSbLSw39R6cNGatciXpxmoxUex2B_AdUjIsMTMUa-P3Zuzy9Tw8rxaTTTbJn58MzPzqab9YMB-oPyOfBm_uTj/s900/Bambi3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0epfaqf8qSImJ3ZVTUGVY_TZVhuMHrHhof6RlIJDfYq-wcS-AAaFNw-OtSbLSw39R6cNGatciXpxmoxUex2B_AdUjIsMTMUa-P3Zuzy9Tw8rxaTTTbJn58MzPzqab9YMB-oPyOfBm_uTj/s320/Bambi3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>The other new thing is that there is now a second original certificate for the *body* as well so when you split a doll, there is no sad little photocopied "certificate" that goes with the body, or worse, when you let go of the original certificate with the body and then realize that you want to sell the head later. (sad face). The Owners manual is the pink thing you see in the back, all updated with the current stringing and parts. There is now a rfid chip in the head also:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIBSfcKMQJT-YAEzbgUWb4Y9wQRhu2afWC9XNWcwwBfkgjXXfyGJo9ydh1G32jHrbhq7QFs7246HayqIIPS_2_9djQuD-0nHXeJYCZ6Ku1bU-DRAb8gXbMDT7yh26LPmjAyAJixoQfGqL/s900/Bambi5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIBSfcKMQJT-YAEzbgUWb4Y9wQRhu2afWC9XNWcwwBfkgjXXfyGJo9ydh1G32jHrbhq7QFs7246HayqIIPS_2_9djQuD-0nHXeJYCZ6Ku1bU-DRAb8gXbMDT7yh26LPmjAyAJixoQfGqL/s320/Bambi5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>It's the bump behind the hook, where the Soom Seal used to be. There is supposed to be one in the chest in the body as well, but she is strung so well I was unwilling to pull her apart to look. I don't know how much this adds to the cost of the doll, but the fact that you can easily prove a real Soom doll is a real Soom should help the company stamp down counterfeiters. Soom's willingness to reissue old, beloved molds helps too :D </p><p>Finally, there are new boxes:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtETFTGDw3i_JS-poQyUrQ3AfzD86iCDVQOqUCpjet1S4gxKsRKaI5OnV3GoAOVqBmFfDdpNvEOmml5ziAmm-fcozg3kYVpN-_3GX2tmnTs60Ta57KRt_5bo5wVVUnFCfXzbxJNc2w13qB/s900/Bambi2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtETFTGDw3i_JS-poQyUrQ3AfzD86iCDVQOqUCpjet1S4gxKsRKaI5OnV3GoAOVqBmFfDdpNvEOmml5ziAmm-fcozg3kYVpN-_3GX2tmnTs60Ta57KRt_5bo5wVVUnFCfXzbxJNc2w13qB/s320/Bambi2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I think they are elegant, and if they contain less paper, they don't feel flimsy at all. Inside is the usual pillow, which to be honest I don't like as much as the styrofoam inserts Granado uses, because the zippers break; but I think some people use them as a way to transport the dolls to meets. Amber came with an amusing solution to the ear-versus-the-face-protector problem:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-bHBLnT8bh6zP6LUmMAmZx87FKtZlBv_GLYxugfufoWe2Irj7erT_jX5ofhHx08XDtC5scW5jbONEOVsx4YMBloBYPlD2_FDuPIbjUjUyO4ujBwXF7yS9_T4hJlhwRsQlFo0o4wJnxzU9/s900/Bambi4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-bHBLnT8bh6zP6LUmMAmZx87FKtZlBv_GLYxugfufoWe2Irj7erT_jX5ofhHx08XDtC5scW5jbONEOVsx4YMBloBYPlD2_FDuPIbjUjUyO4ujBwXF7yS9_T4hJlhwRsQlFo0o4wJnxzU9/s320/Bambi4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I think I would have put a bit of bubble wrap around the headcap, but it all survived the trip. Amber is now imaginatively named "Bambi", and once I get her face painted and into a dress, I will take more photos. This body is my all-time favorite body for size and posing, it's just perfect--I have the version with the mobility thigh, which I highly recommend. She also came with smoothed seams, which I really appreciate. Overall this release looks like it was made with care and love.</p><p>Oh, and the name? The original release of Amber was "Pure Spirit", and now this is the jaded version, supposedly :D In fact this individual doll will be "Spoiled Spirit" as I now have some jewelry making supplies!</p><p><br /></p>Fishcakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04129239011581997070noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6522475238241554273.post-38485862818323312782021-09-02T22:01:00.000-05:002021-09-02T22:01:13.611-05:00Monthly Doll Jet at Soom<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ40vPHexXuvaX8RRwj3HgOeWk52WvhJmMP6H2eJCmSHTUT-Qnw5qeSUj42Futkjm3PAUEE0OK10-QpnNRh7bJb__XMEP-IR57Br04zp5e0KGmpA3sPw-HpJKlicW7ef8Z6-T42JV9wHSl/s753/JetOne.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="753" data-original-width="703" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ40vPHexXuvaX8RRwj3HgOeWk52WvhJmMP6H2eJCmSHTUT-Qnw5qeSUj42Futkjm3PAUEE0OK10-QpnNRh7bJb__XMEP-IR57Br04zp5e0KGmpA3sPw-HpJKlicW7ef8Z6-T42JV9wHSl/s320/JetOne.JPG" width="299" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p>Soom now has a calendar of releases on their website (they have had it for a few months now and it's pretty useful to see what is coming in the current month. Luckily Cat is smarter than I am, and linked me to a You Tube video that showed how to get into the head--it's not as simple as unscrewing the three screws on the back off--you have to use inappropriate force and a screwdriver to pop the back off the supporting plastic pylons AND unhook the spring with a tiny crochet hook--the spring is attached to the back of the head on a tiny bar above the pull mechanism. So I ordered a Resinsoul Ai hooved body for her and it arrived a month ago (Covid has made even Resinsoul behind schedule, so be patient while they catch up--you can also get things faster if you order directly from their website; but also have a good antivirus, as their site is unsecured.) I ordered through Denver Doll because I was lazy :D<p></p><p>I had put a different, not entirely successful faceup on her before--I like this grumpy one much better. She still needs a custom wig as this one hides her pointy little ears. The resin of the head and the body is a pretty good match--Agnes is about a year older but the RS resin will catch up with her in time. The body is good--she will stand without the stand, though I did have to restring the body--RS puts all the strings up through the neck, shrugs, and wraps it all up in bubble wrap and lets you deal with it, and I am fine with that. I do need to wire her arms, though.</p>Fishcakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04129239011581997070noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6522475238241554273.post-91773761277545350632021-07-01T22:43:00.001-05:002021-07-01T22:43:24.046-05:00Sophie Pretends To Be Purple<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAmmWcWB9di-xkYOrnnx09rwysCcPY9vtpbkJPXQBuOCSFI_rVL33FO5h2eNR5a6vHjt3TqjVgwI0B5x47r_bw5QrKrZ8p2qIpYu2TWN8MB48pDVRcTgnD_1MYlanrY0v6tGuFvZVkB142/s1200/SophiePurple.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="626" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAmmWcWB9di-xkYOrnnx09rwysCcPY9vtpbkJPXQBuOCSFI_rVL33FO5h2eNR5a6vHjt3TqjVgwI0B5x47r_bw5QrKrZ8p2qIpYu2TWN8MB48pDVRcTgnD_1MYlanrY0v6tGuFvZVkB142/s320/SophiePurple.jpg" /></a></div>My friend Cat really wants Soom to create a new, purple Beryl; pointing out that they have done a "light purple" Amber, but not Beryl. So here is a photoshop mockup of what a Light Purple Beryl might look like. (I had to use the Classic Beryl because I do not have the new body with hooves). Soom has done a Creamy white, a Normal, a gray, a Brown Tan, but I can't think of any other colors...not even a Tawny, or a "Twany" even:<p></p><p>Twany:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghSkpxlEX3vx_47EOQgCi-24EWNRFOYzUZwH4rY7KSG8zOWtgwO6i7r8-E2zcihsNcHBEXRLuZ8eM_mej_Lptar0vaM7ePxxrH7fMRM3um4Y9zNZA-B7B_iB-xfT8R0fRO3-ptVRSnlabZ/s897/Twany.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="305" data-original-width="897" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghSkpxlEX3vx_47EOQgCi-24EWNRFOYzUZwH4rY7KSG8zOWtgwO6i7r8-E2zcihsNcHBEXRLuZ8eM_mej_Lptar0vaM7ePxxrH7fMRM3um4Y9zNZA-B7B_iB-xfT8R0fRO3-ptVRSnlabZ/s320/Twany.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>My theory is Twany is Tawny with sparkles, or maybe Narmer is just a one-off. The length of the skirts, ungathered, were about 180 cm long. The "sleeves" would have taken me about 5 minutes if I hadn't needed to do a bit of needle lace to hook together the two sides of the lace rectangles. A pleater would make all those gathers faster than me doing them by hand, too, and many of them were already part of the nightgown I cut apart. My biggest mistake was sewing together the two layer of the skirt--they would have worked better as two separate skirts, with the underskirt gathered into a flat panel. I was actually just looking for an inexpensive head for a Iplehouse modified body, but this head ended up on a Loongsoul girl body that I had in storage since the size and color was good. It's a really nice head--the eye wells are super flat, so I need to look for some 16mm eye that has almost no dome to it--right now I have some glib eyes in there and even those are too curved to fit quite smoothly in the space. But overall I did an ok faceup for her and I'll make her some clothes because I have almost nothing that fits the Loongsoul chest. That is a Grace body, by the way, they are *very* tall, 68 cm with a head, so great for big heads. They are surprisingly good posers. You can order them from Alice's Collections (Alice has perfect English, I get the impression that ordering directly Loongsoul is fine unless there is some issue and then it's harder).</p><p><a href="http://www.acbjd.com/loong-soul-63cm-3part-torso-girl-body-bg6301-p-8446.html?cPath=1047_1055">http://www.acbjd.com/loong-soul-63cm-3part-torso-girl-body-bg6301-p-8446.html?cPath=1047_1055</a></p><p>Also Alice has deals and sometimes leftover fullsets you can't find other places. Loongsoul does take quite a while to ship, but if you have ordered from Dollshe, a few months is nothing :D</p><p>Blue Blood Doll now just has an ebay store; they ship from California and I like their wigs, metallic eyes, and now their heads. They always ship promptly, and I have always liked what I have bought from them.</p><p><br /></p>Fishcakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04129239011581997070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6522475238241554273.post-44844176893007383402021-06-23T11:21:00.002-05:002021-06-23T11:21:23.734-05:00Very Limited Soom Mermaids :D<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVEtL7By1L7KieeP-Nqsm2eP4Zx97nrKyzRdo_6yku9hsV-eDi027jydB7FZiMcqPrlEwQZp4TSMJzjp1rjfKDWngByav6o2MTChc80F0a5f9MsOmR5hPpQKiTvNecbZIdcFPSuL_DXTEe/s848/SerinRico2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="848" data-original-width="700" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVEtL7By1L7KieeP-Nqsm2eP4Zx97nrKyzRdo_6yku9hsV-eDi027jydB7FZiMcqPrlEwQZp4TSMJzjp1rjfKDWngByav6o2MTChc80F0a5f9MsOmR5hPpQKiTvNecbZIdcFPSuL_DXTEe/s320/SerinRico2.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>This is another msd sized mermaid, a re-release of Serin and Rico. (I guess we will see he options tomorrow.) I'm not sure about faceups yet, because of covid faceups have been very limited, but I really like the blushing on this cute mermaid. The listing has so much good detail--if you scroll all the way down you can see what the difference is between the "cutie" body and the "Blossom" body...basically the Blossom body is more like an adult fairy, and Cutie is more like a tween body. You can also order a boy body! The colors are blue and pink--over time the blue mellows to a more aqua color as the resin yellows, but it's still beautiful, and Pink just looks like a slightly warm classic white. You can order the outfit and the crown, but the outfit is very limited so I would do that asap.<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsNdG10M5TQeaJYdoe83C37Gsh0dPVJssvlqri0AJ4eMnjBrgiCF90wkx87DcMihK0R9wV_XEQ8iX0kCzIcp_cuWm9SkPYkWUPUL66HQJd5EV27x6-iiFbZI_qPnQKGmpYOsva8KoGo4p9/s1023/rena2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1023" data-original-width="701" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsNdG10M5TQeaJYdoe83C37Gsh0dPVJssvlqri0AJ4eMnjBrgiCF90wkx87DcMihK0R9wV_XEQ8iX0kCzIcp_cuWm9SkPYkWUPUL66HQJd5EV27x6-iiFbZI_qPnQKGmpYOsva8KoGo4p9/s320/rena2.JPG" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>The human body comes with heel legs! We all wore masks, but we could sit, vaccinated, in the lobby and drink Starbucks and pretend it was all normal. And I bought some things--most of the lace and fabric on the left is for Cat; the dress was probably from some unfortunate Chinese porcelain doll, and the tiny clothes on the right ..might..fit my Nanuri Fairyland girl on her small Moe body. Since they were a dollar apiece, I thought it was worth a try. There was a plastic futuristic rifle for Rain to shoot mutant giant bugs with, a tarot card box, and some silk flowers. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. (I also bought a wig from Akutenshi, not shown here, but I will take photos for a later post.)<p></p><p>The dark blob on the right is actually a hat--there is a vendor at the show that always has a display of perfect little doll hats, and I try to buy one just to support her. I have made human hats for a small Renaissance Faire and it's a lot of work--and crushing if no one buys them! And they are really well made. Here is Sophie modelling her new hat--I think she would like a matching outfit now. :o</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0BqPrbq788Slj9tzZzGnsaGJmn7tsBjH4bftpLuWBkTm8gY03YT8qfViKkQ6luAHN-e99fVQcL3Y9zTI5UuhkPmxblhC5BBtue7WNHPAbsPYj5-7jhJsTGqcd9vj1F_dOul-PXvf7URcj/s900/SophieHat.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="804" data-original-width="900" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0BqPrbq788Slj9tzZzGnsaGJmn7tsBjH4bftpLuWBkTm8gY03YT8qfViKkQ6luAHN-e99fVQcL3Y9zTI5UuhkPmxblhC5BBtue7WNHPAbsPYj5-7jhJsTGqcd9vj1F_dOul-PXvf7URcj/s320/SophieHat.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>Sophie is a Soom Beryl, and her head is modelled after the American model Devon Aoki. (Aoki actually smiles, though). I do love Beryl's pout, though.</p><p>Meanwhile, I have been cleaning the porch and the basement, and doing some tidying and inventory, which means occasional stops to do some doll thing. I made Erzulie a statement necklace from a heart I found in a craft supply box:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjrgchgh5csby-gUr8-zLcu6TD5s_UFGQIUvmSeM5riwnu86yu_Gbhd6DMDdVo7yRe8viSArobtvlW8LpYqyJPzakahVwWKIeeeThovv76RP8-gWOnpRJUyi9tRfOI8BkMvuh_AGnrTs3Y/s900/ErzulieNecklace.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjrgchgh5csby-gUr8-zLcu6TD5s_UFGQIUvmSeM5riwnu86yu_Gbhd6DMDdVo7yRe8viSArobtvlW8LpYqyJPzakahVwWKIeeeThovv76RP8-gWOnpRJUyi9tRfOI8BkMvuh_AGnrTs3Y/s320/ErzulieNecklace.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnEJus4O__S-SI9ZW9us_Uv69VsKo4V0Oh5P7UDIaJ8HJRP3rO9HU9OYUqeeT89Iuq9l6n726Sp4-pbP01qap01irllfpSe1I3H1EM80dU9d4brblSw9I4d5q5NzfItJE0p5XbR5u8jASh/s1200/ErzulieNecklace2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnEJus4O__S-SI9ZW9us_Uv69VsKo4V0Oh5P7UDIaJ8HJRP3rO9HU9OYUqeeT89Iuq9l6n726Sp4-pbP01qap01irllfpSe1I3H1EM80dU9d4brblSw9I4d5q5NzfItJE0p5XbR5u8jASh/s320/ErzulieNecklace2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>You can see it a bit better in the second photo, as well as the hat Eden Carnes made for my Wizard. It's made of felted wool and has as much personality as a doll, it's just the greatest thing :D Erzulie is a Impldoll Bella, I think, on a Resinsoul body dyed by Sicktress, facup by Chalyss. Wizard Sebastian is a Luts Summery free head I think from 2018 or so, I'd have to check his box. He's also painted by Sicktress.</p><p>Finally, I had decided that I should get a more modern body for my Souldoll Shiva, and I found one from the same seller that I bought the first body from, and it was a great price! AND THEN THE MINX SENT THE HEAD TOO. noooooooo hehe! And of course the head gets to keep the body--she is a Souldoll Swinte and well, look for yourself. But wait there is more!! Akutenshi brought back the Vera body I gave her WITH A NEW HEAD. The photography is exquisite! As is the outfit; sadly for me her ears are still the original cute deer ears, which I never could get a wig to stay on. I took a look to see if the pink wig was being offered for sale (Soom wigs are really nice, they are heavier than Monique's and less likely to tangle) and while this pair were not offered, I found some wigs from the back catalog that I wanted and ordered those, and some eyes, since I knew the EMS was going to cost me around 50.00 anyway.<p></p><p>I really wasn't tempted by the fantasy body, though it's quite lovely and looks sturdy and proportionate--I have learned that one or two hoofies are fun, but after a while they start agitating for stockings and shoes, and I have to go toss around the marketplace and ebay for legs and feet.</p><p>It's so nice to see the Super Gem girls again; the mid size/mini Gem dolls are cute, but aren't my favorite--the Soom princesses are my very favorite dolls, and that new body is such a nice size. The extra pose leg is really worth the extra money, when they offer it (it doesn't come with the fantasy legs because it makes the leg a bit too flexible).</p><p>Amber's gorgeous faceup, btw, is just a "serving suggestion"; perhaps because of Covid they are not doing faceups at this time. Here is her sales page--*go look at the fabulous photos!*</p><p><a href="https://gem.dollsoom.com/en/shop/amber/">https://gem.dollsoom.com/en/shop/amber/</a> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizpkI8IXfjtyKCmBUjrAjZoeTPtqNSw08dmVKnJI7Uwn_VD56RfpoYollOazuBvybJ-vJa4XD9U_5tJ_f56f1-3FPIrBUbA9dr2V4V-SwgvTAWPYU2llGKAKfpKYiLdywuiGbMxHOTl2MG/s1052/Amber2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1052" data-original-width="701" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizpkI8IXfjtyKCmBUjrAjZoeTPtqNSw08dmVKnJI7Uwn_VD56RfpoYollOazuBvybJ-vJa4XD9U_5tJ_f56f1-3FPIrBUbA9dr2V4V-SwgvTAWPYU2llGKAKfpKYiLdywuiGbMxHOTl2MG/s320/Amber2.JPG" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Fishcakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04129239011581997070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6522475238241554273.post-68998321377551970512021-05-17T11:10:00.000-05:002021-05-17T11:10:10.515-05:00Soom Updates Their Packaging<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqAC6FYVfumZozkG0Z0cTc7rA8qFRDIq6IztnZMCaqw9OnXDz2ZC78QA9RFeylBidJTOAA39NriFONDyNjEwbSCFh5zxH8_weLXovSO4I9gvIOmrCK1pA-H18jTJeCxJZIv1UojOsNuZc4/s817/SoomBox.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="388" data-original-width="817" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqAC6FYVfumZozkG0Z0cTc7rA8qFRDIq6IztnZMCaqw9OnXDz2ZC78QA9RFeylBidJTOAA39NriFONDyNjEwbSCFh5zxH8_weLXovSO4I9gvIOmrCK1pA-H18jTJeCxJZIv1UojOsNuZc4/s320/SoomBox.PNG" width="320" /></a></div>Soom is trying to move away from plastic (amusing since the dolls are resin, but I appreciate the effort!). The new boxes are layered paper with a vinyl coat only on the lids, and the certificates are now in paper folders. Not sure how they will cope with a substitute for bubble wrap. There is a new method of authentication, which I also don't have a clue about since I haven't bought a doll since the Before Times. But now I have some money saved so we'll see.
