When we first moved in, there was a small fountain by the front door, a nice rock fountain--but the birds liked it too, and made a mess out of the whole surrounding rockery, and the fountain itself was on a timer in the house that was missing the insulation plate; and as the timer said right on it "There was some danger of electrocution" in using it without the plate. So I dug up the fountain and stored the pump and the cut stones over the winter, and yesterday reassembled it in a big plastic Costco tub. I'm sure there is a better way to hide the cord, but for now it makes cute burbling noises, and the birds haven't found it yet.
