Reggae Dickens
Karl Kofoed wrote me a note about music: We were in the car driving home and listening to the radio. On comes a top 40 Reggae song. I say to Jan, "That's Bob Marley's son. Um. What's his name?" Jan thinks for a minute and says. "Jacob?" "Jacob? You think Charles Dickens wrote Reggae?" Jan laughs. "Oh. Of course not." I say in a Jamaican dialect, "Oh ya! Dees are de natty dreds I forged in life, mon!" We laughed all the way home. And oddly enough, I own a cd called "20 Evergreen Classics, Reggae Christmas Carols"
