I freely admit I am a doll churner.. I buy dolls, I play with them, I sell them. I really wish there was a rental service where you could rent them and return them, but the way I do dolls is pretty close. I just like seeing them in person, looking at the engineering, fiddling with the posing, taking a few photos, and then "Next!" I do have a few dolls that have been here for a long time--My Dollzone Shengxi (Which no one in their right mind would buy anyway), my Shushu, which I will not sell because Christine Sorton painted her before she passed away from leukemia, much too young; and my Iplehouse Denzel and IOS G, because they have been here in one form or another since I lived in New Jersey. I got Denzel in 2010, which seems like it was eons ago now. But recently I have been trying to get the overall number of dolls down to a rational amount, aka "thirty", and despite some sales I haven't been too successful. Hecate and Five Eyes, probably around 2Am somewhere :D Five Eyes has a body, the Loongsoul big busted body formerly supporting Laurel's head, and it's the right size for her large head (She is intended as a male sculpt, so she actually fits better on boy bodies.) Here is one reason I wanted to take Laurel off of it: Yes, that is four pounds, nine point five ounces. Laurel is supposed to be outside a lot, and that is a heavy body to lug across public parks with a camera. Laurel says the weight is all on top. I do need to make her a new top, since this crocheted thing is too big for the smaller Fantasia bust. The new Fantasia body is fun to pose and feels a lot lighter without the resin feeling thin or plasticy.  The wired arms are strong, too--the beads here are fairly heavy and she supports them without any problem. Yes, it's Lelahel's gorgeous Chloe, the one that could "kick my butt" and famous clothing model for Lelahel. I'd buy her in a second..but I already have Laurel, and I don't need two. Even with shipping to the US (around 50 dollars more or less, plus some insurance) that is an amazing price. It seems possible that if you offered 700.00 and made chibi eyes you could get Lelahel to include a wig or a simple outfit--but in any case she is the prettiest Chloe I have ever seen--and she does come with her box and papers. (Lelahel is the second owner). You do need Den of Angels marketplace access to see the listing here . I have bought several things from France and the shipping and tracking is quick and reliable. I keep forgetting to post about this, but I love Linny Shephard's doll eyes! She makes them herself out of polymer clay and they are very even (pairs match superbly) and not as expensive as other custom brands. Her Etsy is here , and she ships from London, UK. The last pair I bought from her took about 3 weeks round trip, for both manufacturing and shipping, and they are beautiful (I got the Imperial Jade ones) . Right now she has a few Steampunk ones if you are looking for those, some ready-made and ready to ship, like these: If you collect Fairyland girls, you have the added plus of seeing what the eyes look like in Fairyland dolls! I actually crocheted something for a doll that is ..clothing. Sort of. Laurel, a Fairyland 65 Chloe head, is now on a Loongsoul Large Bust Body; and when Loongsoul says Large Bust, they mean "pumpkin sized." So I had nothing...and I mean nothing.. that buttoned over them-- Sicktress sent two pretty stretch dresses that I am sure would fit, but they were modern in style and Ashley took one (it was black and red). They also have to go over the head, and Laurel's ears make this problematic.  So after an hour of mangling this really lovely yarn, I had something that would go on Laurel. The crocheted cups are stitched to a wool back band that hooks in the center back, and the stretchiness of the yarn  makes the top stay up and centered. It kind of visually reduces her bust, too--it just looks like the yarn is bulky, and not Laurel.   Girrl knitted the fingerless gloves. Sunday got off to a rocky start--we were out of milk and bread, it was supposed to storm, and I had to drive to Target in the truck since it was in the accessible slot in the garage and had AC. This was at an hour when I am not really qualified to run a toaster, much less a motor vehicle; but I got there OK, got my stuff, and even managed to resist the lure of 4.00 coffee in order to go home and make my own.  Then the storm veered off somewhere else, and it was sunny, so I decided to both dremel down the top of a body to fit Deesse/Danu's head on it, and to try using the iPoly dye to dye that junk body. ( The junk body was the former Headless Laurel, but Laurel has a head now, but it is now on a Loongsoul Cartoon Boob body, which is actually a lovely, beautifully posing body even if it looks like Hugh Hefner designed it) ("Was this really necessary?") Headless Laurel has been a sewing form for a while, but I always wanted to get some sort of head on her--originally I thought she'd need a male head, since she is quite large, but as I was digging through the Den of Angels Marketplace, I saw a Fairyland Chloe 65 for sale! Shadowed Force wanted a body for something, and had put the head on the Marketplace. Disclaimer: the faceup she is wearing is my own--Shadowed Force is on hiatus because of school, otherwise I would have asked about a professional faceup. Also the eyes are homemade. Anyway, as Laurel is an Impldoll Idol body, I knew there would be some challenges getting a Fairyland head on, since Fairyland uses a locking key in the neck to keep the heads on. What I hadn't realized, is that the newest Fairyland heads also have a prong on the faceplate to discourage using a jury-rigged S hook. The answer was (sort of hilariously) a Soom "banana".
