They are a bit wobbly, but they FIT that Mirodoll muscle body. I also found out that Iplehouse flats seem to fit that body as well, as long as they are for the older, larger EID girl. (New Iple dolls have slightly smaller feet). I started out with a pinterest pattern for shoes, and printed them out at the size I thought they should be: However, I didn't take into account the fact that the dolls foot has angled toes, not triangular-shaped toes: So I kind of pulled the pattern apart into three pieces that I thought I would have more control over: You can see the sole with 1/4 inch seam allowance around the foot, the top with it's little trefoil sprout, and the heel-sides in the back, one flat and one sewed together. To get the stitching angle right, I taped the pieces around the heel and sewed through the tape, since pins wouldn't go through the pleather without distorting the pieces. The old purse donated the pleather, though I used it inside out for the velve...

As part of a trade with Angela_Valentine , I received some Soom flat feet and some heel feet! I was so happy to get them, as Tesla has been wearing some Impldoll old Star Man feet, which made her stand very securely, but also limited what she could wear for shoes. Now she can wear cute heels! Also, Admiral Pickering can now have some human feet--the Impldoll feet fit the Soom body he's on. He's been on the Euclase body, with talons instead of feet; and while the talons are impressive, having giant parrot feet means that putting on trousers is very difficult. So now Pickering can wear pants again, and to celebrate I threw together some underwear to keep him decent until I get around to making his real clothing.

LOL! That is Tesla with dolomi horns..pretty silly. If they had offered the human head as a possible head that would have been neat. I suppose you could do a little dental extraction on the fangs, or explain that she is a feathered dragon?

JennyNemesis did her nails and sent me the pic--it was a three step process, and came out so cool she had to share how they came out. The end result was some of my favorite colors anyway (and that might be as close as you can come to having dichroic glass nails), and for some reason I started to think of what else I had laying around that I could customize like JN's nails. It had to be something fairly stiff, or the paint would crack off, so that meant no fabric, but I did have some boring white dollie boots that Tesla had been wearing, and I thought painting could make them look a lot more interesting. Here is where I did an undercoat of black to cover the Mighty White (you can see the white boot in the back). Then a lot of painting happened late last night. They came with the blanket! Unfortunately Tesla's hands are fractionally smaller that Selket's (and more replaceable) so Tesla stole them from Selket. I think they look really cute on Tesla--even though Tesla's head and neck are two different countries.

You know it's a good sculpt if she looks good even with my painting. :D There are a couple of leftover Migmas in the Soom Post Monthly doll sale--buying a complete Migma would fix Tesla's "mismatched primer/ redneck sportscar car" problem, but I think it will be cheaper and easier to just paint her neck to match her head.

I've wanted to try doing some infrared photography for ages, but I haven't gotten around to either hacking a digital camera to do it or buying the film online for my old SLR camera. I did try with my snapshot camera--I made a filter out of a black plastic garbage bag (which is transparent to IR, apparently, while blocking a lot of visible light), and rubber banded it to the lens, forgetting that the lens extends automatically when it is turned on, so hilarity ensued when I turned it on. After replacing the "filter" and finding a makeshift tripod, I discovered that I can't set the exposure on this camera, at least not without the long vanished instruction manual..there was no menu setting for it that I could find. So I gave up and just took a regular photo into Photoshop. But it just isn't the same. A few weeks ago I bought a Migma Lavender Vampire head from Sarqq , figuring I would make a fun steampunk electrical vampire out of her. I have painted her face (with rather goofy eyebrows, but it's not the worst faceup I have done, so it will do for now) and I had a wig for her. For some reason I thought the wig that I scissored up for Lt. Coppersmith was hers, but no, I was tidying up today and opened her shoe box--and there, neatly wrapped in tissue and labelled, was her own wig. So after sitting around sulking, bald and cranky and no doubt causing my lightbulbs to fail daily (I have over 50 over the whole house, so one is always out), now she can sit around and drain the juice out of my AA batteries. And here she is, sizing up her next victim, the Home Depot Floor Lamp:
