Goldfinch, Souldoll Serena and Coral

Image
Goldfinches blend amazingly well for a bright yellow-and-black bird! This was the female of the pair that visit our yard, the male is even brighter in color. They love the echinacea seeds. I don't remember if I posted a photo of my Souldoll Serena after I got her back from Angeltoast (I think I did,) but here she has a wig made by Akutenshi and I think it suits her: And I found a top by Sewing Box Designs that I think everyone has worn (it's more or less Iplehouse Senor Doll size, so it fits a lot of my dolls). I like it a lot on Coral--Coral is a Soom Migma Human head on the Mirodoll body that Sicktress made. The top has a matching skirt but Coral's waist is waaaay smaller than any Iplehouse girls, so I need to make her a skirt from similar materials so it will match. That bead trim is the bomb :D One of the things I did this weekend (besides laundry) was to grind down the neck of an Iplehouse SID body, so it could take my Granado Anne head. It was a godawful job that in...

Souldoll Serena Returns Home

Image
I originally purchased her secondhand from Lelahel, and though she has a pretty faceup at the time, it wasn't right for me: So I sent her off to AngelToast , who I knew would do a beautiful job on her--AngelToast likes to do dramatic eyes and lips and that was what I wanted, and I knew my own painting would not do her justice. So I was so, so happy to see how perfect she is--it's nerve-wracking to trust a favored head to the mail, but the Post Office cooperated too! Serena did have an outfit, but her new faceup needs a slightly different color scheme, so she is in the kimono for now until I can make her something new. She needs real Souldoll shoes, too--Souldoll girls have big feet! This is the default--I like mine better, as her brows look more natural to me than the store version: Also, I love her new lips!! A big thank you to AngelToast!

Vivienne

Souldoll Serena came out from Souldoll last year, and she was magnificent--and expensive: I liked the human version even more than the centaur (more practical for my small storage space, for one thing). But Lelahel on Den of Angels ordered her, and then didn't much like the body. I can see why someone would think it was a little awkward aesthetically, but I have had a lot of fun with it already. It is a lot more posable than the old bodies, but with the same beautiful hands (Souldoll has the best hands): Anyway, I am going backwards--here is the box: A really nice certificate: Useful writing on the headcap so you wont mix the cap up with someone elses (easy if you are a customizer!) And finally, Vivienne when I first managed to dig her out of her chrysalis (Lelahel packed her very securely!) All the bumping in the postal truck had loosened her eyes, poor thing. I like her faceup but I want to put a little green at the corners of her eyes to cool it down a...
