My big purchase was two handmade mohair wigs from Akutenshi7. The first one was for Gemma, since she has been sharing a wig with another doll and no one should have to share their hair. The second wig is for a doll that is still in progress and I want to finish her completely before I take pics, but I did want to share her gorgeous wig: I really wanted a mohair wig for this girl since her hair needs to be able to be pinned up for different outfits. So pretty! Then there was a raft of other deals that I found: Two of these were from Akutenshi, though--a cravat that she bought for my guys (I think one of the Victorians, Josiah Aldwood, will get an outfit to match the cravat), and a chair. A 5.00 chair. I was very excited about the chair because they cost the earth to buy through the mail or ebay because of the shipping, and this one was a perfect size for Coppersmith. It ended up like this--it's still a pretty odd wrap-style shirt, but at least I know where to alter it, and the shirt is at least wearable so Erzulie has something of her own. Here's how I put it together, more or less--I just eyeballed the pieces, which is why the fit is so odd--no measuring was involved. I ended up trying it under a pretty dress that Rajendora sewed me for a gift, and while it looks ok around the collar, the shirt is really too bulky to layer "as is". So Erzulie has a cute little dress to wear as well--I think I will make a little leather belt to match it later. Rajendora made a second dress as well, this is it on Gemma--it's really adorable! Meet the Hon. Lucius Grenville, who does not have his own shirt or hair yet, but at least he has a face and some homemade eyes. I'm going to see if I can find the shirt that I have cut out in a bag somewhere and finish it up for him so he will have something on top. FunnyLori will be sending him a couple of his own white wigs, since the one he has on is borrowed as well. I still need to trim his eyelashes. I'm kind of surprised that he looks like I hoped he would, since the store photo of him looks so different. These guys are chameleons! I did do some other things today--I cleaned the bedroom, hung new curtains, and cleaned Stripey's climber, which now smells "funny" to her: I also put in another pair of homemade eyes into Gemma, and discovered this adorable mess of a wig, that needs recurling, or something. I like that color on her!

This is labelled as a SID dress, but it fits Audrey perfectly (it even came with some cocoa colored tights, which would be cute if you had a cocoa scarf or belt to sort of pull it all together. The color is a bit bright for Audrey, though, and it may go to Roswell, who looks amazing in hot pink. I will add a photo of her later if the top fits. I also got a pair of NYID boy jeans hoping one of my guys could wear it, and a plain top. It turns out that the legs are too tight for my Granado boys, and are even tight on Rebecca, but I love all the pockets even if Bex is not fond of the air gap around the waist: The top she is wearing is a set with bottoms that look suspiciously small (I haven't tried them yet, but if Bex can sit in them I would be amazed.) But the pants are good with a belt for sitting, so I think I will see if I can get a pattern off of them but redo the waist. I also bought a NYID boy white shirt with buttons that looks great too, so I will take more photos tomorro...

After having handed off my gray Bianca and then looking around fruitlessly for a normal-skin one on sale from Den of Angels for less than 800.00; I finally found a different New Young Iplehouse Doll in the form of "Audrey". Audrey is nice in that she has a great factory faceup and looks a lot like the old Mars, who I was fond of-- but never quite got the money together to actually buy before he was discontinued, and even better... the seller was from Texas. Every single transaction I have done with The Ladies From Texas have been awesome from start to finish, and the dolls always look like they have just stepped out of the doll factory showrooms, or in the case of Audrey, with extra hands, feet..and shoes (!). So here is Miss Audrey, wondering how she ended up in a house that doesn't even offer her a decent pair of jeans, much less a stand, a display case. . . or much in the way of accessories besides a leopard handbag.
