Souldoll Shiva Knitting wizard Girrl has knit several items for me in the past, and this time I have 4 wonderful little hats from her! I had plans for who was supposed to get the hats, and of course then the dolls themselves had no use for my plans. This is why a Mesopotamian reed goddess is up there looking adorable in a little knit cap. I guess it makes sense if you are living in Chicago in the fall. Below is Android Mei, who apparently is a supporter of human rights even though she isn't completely human--she has a tiny Pussy Hat. It's actually a nice pink but the photo is a bit dark. Phoenix Dolls Android Mei I'm really looking forward to getting her own, properly colored body and getting her finished up--she is such a wonderful sculpt!  Next below we have a Lord of the Forest, imaginatively named Forrest, who for the last two years has been content to sit on the shelf and play cards with the ship's crew, bothering no one, but when he saw this blue-green...

Mom knitted Coppersmith a hammock blanket--it is so cool! I love the colors so much too. Coppersmith appreciates that he will have something warm and not scratchy when winter comes: It's a pretty good size for a big serape, too :D Look how even those stitches are: This looks nothing like my knitting (a big snarl) or my crocheting (which looks like it meant to be something, but is full of skips and lumps). Years of practice make a big difference! Thank you so much, Mom! <3

And most excellent scarves they are! This blue one went straight to Lieutenant Coppersmith, who loves that color; the second scarf (after 5 minutes of struggling) went to Consuelo Carvalho, ship's bosun (no one really wanted to argue with her, and she thinks she has a matching skirt somewhere in her sea chest-- though she hasn't seen it in months: "Now that is what I call a proper scarf, and thankee!" The last one is still a little up in the air; the Captain was eyeing it, though concerned that it might crush his cravats: "Very fine work indeed, though;" and the pity vote was to give it to William, who is still missing most of his clothes. He says at least he has something now... And thank you from me too, Girrl ! Bonus: Stripey wants to see what I am doing:

Another one of Girrl's creations, which makes farmboy Rain look amazingly dapper! It's such a pretty color and shape, too--much more subtle than Aurelia's :D

Girrl has been busy knitting--she sent me this gorgeous red and glitter and gold bead scarf for Aurelia; a good thing since the high Monday is supposed to be negative four. I hope they are wrong. In any case, Aurelia will be warm AND magnificent--look how long it is! Very suitable for a Dragon Empress! (Though now there is a need for a matching red velvet dress!). Girrl is amazing! They came with the blanket! Unfortunately Tesla's hands are fractionally smaller that Selket's (and more replaceable) so Tesla stole them from Selket. I think they look really cute on Tesla--even though Tesla's head and neck are two different countries.

Selket says that she is ready, thanks to Grrl knitting her a couch blanket! (I figured an Egyptian bug might need an extra layer in Chicago. :D

Mom sent me some knitted goodies, she said that two of them were potholders or dishcloths, but one of them immediately became a chair cover for my new doll chair (actually a plant stand from a garden store, and the perfect size for Bird.) Bird received a magnificent scarf called "Firebird", which looks like a feather undercloak would look fabulous under it. Kalypso the Shushu immediately tried to make off with Bird's neck scarf: The last one shows the seat cover a little. And finally the gray cat asked me to stop goofing with the camera and feed him.(That is the camera lanyard he's pulling on.)
