I joke that dolls with bunny ears are a way of saying "We have no theme ideas, but we hope you will like this doll." I *do* like this doll , even without the amazing crystal tinted ears-- I assume they are held on with magnets. Best of all is That Outfit, though Cat pointed out that the Souldoll hands will not fit through the sleeves unless there is some elastic going on there I can't see. It's built up over a hard cap, so it's only sized for a Souldoll Zenith (around size 7/8. And here is the blank sculpt--what a cutie!

The wigs came from Denver Doll..and they were too small. But cute! This is the curly Leeke wig on Honey, a Soom Cass. Fits well and looks so cute. Since Cass' head is large, you can just imagine how big the Seian head is--definitely a size 9. But the wig Honey was wearing before, a stretchy Monique Paris, was able to be stretched out to fit on Seian's head, and the red wig she was wearing can go back on my Katrien. I have made a few wigs myself--the only ones I have made that I liked were yarn wigs; I am all thumbs with mohair. But Vermont Chick made a nice and rather romantic one for her Fashion Sized Dollshe, and you can read about it here . (I love her blog, she posts usually on Sunday and mostly sews gorgeous, very small dresses). You do have to click at the bottom to expand the post, there is just something about the layout she has for her blog that keeps part of it hidden.

Yes, it's another one of those tall, tall Loongsoul beauties; this one has a fairly short order period that ends in early December. I would not have seen her at all, except that I bought a head and some hands from Jeeryama on Ebay, and I am now on the Clover-Singing/ Dollssinging mail list, so now I get to see what is new. It looks like maybe you can buy her head separately, or maybe it is just the option horns and ears, but you can always write and ask. Generally I prefer to buy from Jeeryama's Ebay site  because everything is automated for billing and you have the layer of controls that Ebay provides--on the other hand, if you have an established relationship with a dealer I prefer to buy from them directly-- since they get more of their money that way...

Yes, it's another ounce of the suri alpaca, and it's creator...I don't really know what to do with these adorable photos--I can't throw them away, they are too cute. The hair in this pack is a lot less flyaway and holds together better than the white, for some reason.  I am still working with the white. I had enough to make an entire size 8 wig and there is still a lot left over--I think I will try felting the rest over a net base and make a small fairylike "waistcoat" out of the remainder. But the wig I am working on still needs a bit more strands on top to cover the felted base, and then some little tiny paper flowers where the blue is stitched in. The base is a small-mesh nylon net and will need some hot glue applied to the inside so the whole wig won't slide off, since there is no elastic. (You can see on the left that there is still a lot of alpaca remaining to be used) Today activity was mostly yard work; and my weigela is blooming. ...

I think this is "Leah" and she donates suri alpaca fiber to her owner E. Brumwell ; the photo came in my Etsy order for some fiber I wanted to use to either make, or add onto, some doll wigs. I wasn't sure how much an ounce was, but it turns out to be just enough to make a reasonable size 8 wig if you don't do too much combing, or lots and lots if you want to fill in for a mohair wig. I have an Ebay mohair that I like a lot, but the front had a thin place, and the alpaca hair was the perfect color and texture to fill it in. It is super soft and a little staticky, so water helps a lot when you are trying to separate the locks--it's as soft as bunny hair: You can dye and braid it--I was combing it with a wide-toothed comb to get some of the tiny bits of hay out (it works better to use tweezers, actually), and it is a lot of careful, painstaking work. You aren't really saving money buying the suri fiber this way, you are just getting stuff that you can cus...

So here is Ashley, a Soom Snow White and my local pyromancer. I love her big red wig, but it's gotten a bit flat from first wearing a hat, and then, I am embarassed to say, having a pair of her upstairs shelf neighbor's feet planted on her head (so rude). So I wanted to give it a bit of curl again. I made some curlers out of rolled paper: And then I found some very small bobby pins (I think they came from Target): Then I got my fingertips wet and sort of petted the water into her hair (I didn't want to get it too wet or spray it, which probably is how it should be done). Then I rolled a "curler" in and put a bobby pin through it: (That awesome fabric used to be a dress of Chalyss'; she sent me so many incredible things a while back, I am still working my way through them). More curlers: Ashley is able to hold a couple of the curlers (dry ones) with her Resinsoul hands . I love those things. After about 20 minutes I had the top of her head ...

If you want to be able to zoom in, I lifted this from Pinterest --I never really understood how to get the fibers all lined up..I thought they were sewed together somehow, but no! They are sort of braided onto the support threads. I will try button thread to start with, or maybe triple-strand embroidery floss--something tough.  The finishing of the ends is still a little bit of a mystery, but this is enough to get started.

I should have added "waifs"; Jo sent me a whole box of wigs , and this was one of them--so many gorgeous wigs in that box! I haven't even had a chance to photograph my favorite one, because it's owner is still in the box downstairs and I ran out of light. Isley modeled a couple of other ones, she's about in the middle of the sizes in the box--here's a curly red one: A black one that I swear was a Lottie from Monique, but I tried to redo what I remembered the braids looked like... and I need to go look at the actual photo again, because maybe there are 4 braids instead of two on top of the head? The hair is nice, smooth and heavy: A mermaid wig, black and blue! There were so many more, too--some Iplehouse sized ones and one Volks wig, I think. This is all my Asa currently has: Vermont Chick told me to go look in Iple Data, which is buried under here (You have to be logged into the site first): HOME There is a TON of useful things in this subfolder, "Iple Data", including pictures of the various sculpts in different wigs and outfits, which can really help to see if the sculpt is going to work for the character/ clothing you have in mind. I still need to find or make that style of wig first, and I am tending towards making it--I spent the weekend being very busy, but also I made another wig, a hand for Ital/Forrest,here, still needs nail shaping and paint: I also did some research on where to buy Apoxie Sculpt, Fimo, LaDoll and some other stuff because I want to make some flintlocks and some other rubbish. I went to Dick Blick in Wheaton and they had none of the things on my list, though they have GIANT BAGS of porcelain clay (cone 10), if you need that. I suspect you save a lot of money picki...

Yes, this is the same old Fataio wig that Aldwood has been wearing since he was painted up. I was never quite happy with it because it's short and doesn't pull back into the regulation queue in the back, and I hadn't found a longer wig in the right color/texture--I did find one and it looked so much better on his mom (an Iplehouse Doria) that she is wearing it now. I finally gave up and went out Saturday, and bought a skein of Lion Acrylic yarn in the right color, made a wig cap out of white felt (after a couple of false starts), picked apart sections of the yarn, and made this wig: Which was OK, but also a not an amazing wig for 8 hours of stitching, and you can really see how wimpy those eyebrows are. So I changed out his eyes for the new ones, took off the eyelashes that were shedding, and repainted his eyebrows..and tried on a Jpopdolls Kana wig on him that was kicking around, and it looked a hundred times better than the yarn one. It's not fond of being tied ba...
