MiniFee Iru

Image
Fairyland has released the cutest Minifee boy, Iru , as part of the Designer's Complete line, where you get all the trimmings for a higher price. I haven't looked at Minifee boys for literally years, but they seem to have a new body--maybe slimmer? The old MnF boy body was strangely buff for a fairy, and not really right for this sweet face. I'm such a sucker for those multicolored Oscar eyes--they are standard for Fairyland but you can just buy them from Fabric Friends and Dolls , though the selection depends on if they have just gotten in an order or not. Oh, and they have a small selection of Mako eyes as well--the one pair I have are very pretty, nicer than the photos would make you think. Anyway, Iru comes in white, normal or Tan. The photos are very satisfying to look at--very much like Fairyland should look like: And I found a photo of the Motion Line body! It is slimmer: He's got a tiny 6-7 head too, so keep that in mind if you don't order his ...

Carol the Fairy

Image
Not surprisingly, she lives at Fairyland ! And she has a wonderful fullset. Alas there will only be 100 of her, so I am saving "mine" for a friend :D Also there is the practical problem of no room--I need to see if I can colonize the guest room or otherwise move things around, because I have nowhere for my shoes or my sheets to live right now, and the boxes in the basement are starting to get annoying. More pix: Them shoes!!! She is the FL 60 size, not the taller 65 cm like Angela, Seian and Chloe. The 60 body is easier to carry and pose, IMO. (I still love those tall girls, though). And that is such a glorious magical wand. If I was at Hogwarts, I want that one, not a boring stick :D (Yes, I would be the Elle Woods of Hogwarts).

A Little Nanuri Head

Image
Akutenshi and I co-bought a doll at the doll show, or rather, we seem to have bought a Fairyland Moe body, one of the Minifee sized ones, and a sketchy head. The price was amazing, and that might be why. So in the interest of having a genuine head on the body, I bought this little 2012 Nanuri head from another Den of Angels member; we also have a Lucywen-with-papers head to put on it. There might even be clothes later :D This little rascal is so cute--"He" is supposed to be a boy, but with those huge eyes and adorbs little teeth this head will make a cute girl.

Shushu Springs Up

Image
My Luts Shushu (almost a decade old now) is usually the first doll I pull out when Spring makes it warm enough to go outside and take photos. This year that meant "May", so the Prairie Buttercups and snowdrops are all done. But the plastic sunflowers bloom all year. :D The clothespin next to her holds a new-to-her dress that might have been on a Tonner before, though it looks handmade. I will have her model it later once her hair is done. She has shoes to go with it! Someone at the Kane County Doll Show had little handmade shoes that fit her perfectly. I've always wondered why Fairyland doesn't carry shoes to fit the Minifee all the time, since Minifee are so popular. Maybe it's a way to get you to buy their fullsets?

Snow Fairy Eva (and Luna) at Fairyland

Image
This is Real Fee Eva in her human form..she has CRYSTAL SNEAKERS, hehe! And if you think she is cute as a tiny little doll, check her out as a tiny little centaur: Snowflake wings! You can also get a Luna head on the centaur body instead.  Here are the two centaur fairies together: They are so cute. They are not a size I collect, but I loved the photos so much (and there are a lot more) that it's worth a visit just to see them. The tails are crystal, too!

Alicia Seahorse

Ital the Ice Lord

Image
Krowbar had a Fairyland 65cm male body that I thought would be great for Gideon, as I had one once before ( Xtal has that one now). So we did a trade--she told me up front he had an "Ice Arm" that she wanted to keep, and I thought that was fine since I could just stuff a nub of resin in the arm hole and attach feathers and Gideon could have a "Wing Arm". Krowbar felt that she should send along a little something extra with the body, since it only had one arm..so she sent... a head. This head, in fact: I thought maybe he was a Scar Breakaway, which are very much liked by people who collect Fairyland dolls, but after some Googling I found that while he was the Breakaway mold, he was really Ital the Ice Lord, which explains the Ice Arm. I'm not sure what explains the scars, but that seems to be a thing with Fairyland. Krowbar had added the smaller eyes (which I like a lot) and the fancier ears, and it turns out the teeth as well--they were done so well I thoug...

Steampunk Angela

Image
Fairyland, who had been ignoring everyone else and quietly pumping out MiniFee, suddenly brings out an extraordinary Feeple 65 girl named Angela, and how I love her and her stuff! She is not cheap--she is on that overengineered body and all the amazing clothes and props that make her so wonderful are not cheap either, but what a gorgeous set! And I like her head sculpt more than any other Feeple since the Vampire Moon of years ago. Here is Angela's Sales Page

Minifee A and B

Image
Sometime around April of 2007, Luts and Cerberus Productions (CP was founded in 2002) formally became two companies, and CP opened a website for their own line of dolls and named the company "Fairyland", and introduced the 70 cm tall "Feeples" (Fairyland People). For a while both Luts and Fairyland made "Minifee", and at some point..maybe 2010? Fairyland took over the production of Minifee and then the Delf lines, and Luts stopped making them. I wanted to put together a Minifee as a gift, so I looked around and TatsuKitty offered me an old Luts "B" line Minifee body for a great price, and bajib found a Minifee Rena head that she could part with. When I got the two parts together I noticed that the color of the resin was different between the Rena head and the older body: So I took out Kalypso, who is also a cobbled-together Minifee; and Kalypso's newer body was the exact color of the Rena head. I know the Rena is a more recent sculpt--...

Delf Lishes

Image
Fairyland , who is the official site of the Cerberus Productions sculpting team (the name always makes me laugh, yes, they have a lot of heads but none of them were dogs) is set to re-release some of the sculpts that they and Luts have been hassling over. They haven't released a list of which ones yet, there is just an announcement that they will soon start making them again, and 60 cm bodies to match. I could use two more "real" Delf bodies to go under the Delf heads I have, but I think that I will need to see them first--everything gets redesigned when they get reissued. Here are two other Lishe heads I had: The one on the left is an older type 1 from 2005, and the one on the right is from 2010. You can see how much narrower and smaller the Luts 2010 recast is, especially around the jaw. It's not quite a fair comparison since Amethyst, the doll on the right, is a modded Dreaming Lishe. (She's had her eyes opened with an exacto knife, not by me). I did se...
