It's an albino robin in my yard. I have never seen one before :o. Also there were these tomatoes: So weird. Perhaps I should rent a Geiger counter. Anyway, we went today to the Kane County Flea Market ; Akutenshi found a little china fox for Kate, and I found a 2 dollar copper fish mold, a small chest, and a couple of other things. It was a beautiful day and the most crowded I have seen it this year. More weird stuff: The dragon is looking like it needs some repairs now: Model boats, a hydrofoil and a cigarette boat: Lots of beads: Afterwards we went to Riganato on State St. in Geneva --it's not a chain, it's not expensive, and it is awesomely good Mediterranean/Italian food. This was dessert (we has calimari for an appetizer, so we were pretty full by the end): So. Very.Good.

Along with such Midwestern items as corn, and cow hides; you can buy quilts at the Kane County Flea Market.:D They are not hand-pieced and probably imported from India or China, but that makes them very affordable-- and I liked this one a lot :D The next time I go back I will budget for more for Christmas presents!  I did not buy the fishing net below, though I considered it--it's bigger than J usually uses and the net string felt a little brittle, but it was pretty: I did get him a stone--agate? Jasper? to use in making a box lid of some kind: It's about 2.5 inches by 1.5 inches. There was also a dragon, eating a "meal": It was such a nice day that  Akutenshi and I mostly just wandered around, looking at stuff, and then afterward we went to the "All Chocolate Cafe" in Geneva, which has giant chocolate sculptures; including a tree in the center of the store, made from 1000 pounds plus of chocolate. So it was a beautiful day, and we went back to the Kane County Flea Market, to look once more for a vise that J wanted in the boxes-o-crap in the center section of the Flea Market. It's 5 acres, but a lot of the vendors seem to be in traditional spots, so I am getting better at remembering who has what where and which vendors are regulars. The transient vendors seem to take the center section and the open, no tent tables, and sometimes that is where the truly odd stuff is. Here is J trying to decide which box to look in: The vaguely horrible pink thing the lady is holding is actually a pink teapot: I thought blue taping the edges of the glassware was smart, though decanting them onto a table cloth might have given the vendor better sales--the sun would have made everything beautiful. I noticed a LOT of chandelier crystals this time, because the sun made them sparkle. I resisted buying any and now I am a little sorry..next time we go, I might pick up a couple to put in th...

It's a little Italian jewelry box from the Kane County Flea Market! The weather was glorious and we met up with Akutenshi7 at the cowhides. I should have taken a picture, but I forgot that the cowhides are not a normal Flea Market item in most part of the country. I was more amazed at the Pre-Columbian Pottery special: Also there was a booth that we totally agreed with: But the chest was the best thing--here it is with the Craft Store That Will Not Be Named chest: For the larger dolls, it is a little short: But the drawers open fine and the inside was nice and clean: Altogether it's a very fine chest!

It was a gorgeous day, so Akutenshi7 and I went to the Kane County Fairgrounds, home of the weekend flea market. The weather was perfect, so the flea market was jammed full of, basically, the stuff from every garage and estate sale ever. I wished I had brought a wire cart with me, because if I had, I would have bought more. As it was, I bought a galvanized tub, a set of napkins and a tablecloth (pretty much like what I made J's Admiral costume from), a Monster High Catty Noir (no clothes, no box, but WITH her tail), a hand drill for J, a present for Mom, a doll chair, a bunch of stamped leather, and a tiny My Little Pony from this guy: He was pushing them to raise money for Special Olympics and he had a whole bag of the tinies, some with dire hair.
