Shipping notice! And Ottoman Steampunk

Yes, Addiction Stella, in Light Brown... ... is sitting at the airport in Seoul, waiting to board; meanwhile I am here trying to get her some things sewed up. My fit model, Cherie, says "These aren't for me?" But the next set of that caftan ( qaftān ) looking thing will be better, because I have figured out how to measure the collar (I filled in this one because it will stay up without a coin bra/supplemental top under it, and it just looks more "wearable" to me this way than the more open-necked version). I'll also finish that inner sleeve seam on the next one. I still need to make the jacket and the skirt wrap, a necklace and a headdress. Here's a pic of where I am headed, more or less: Haha, maybe not quite so large for the headdress. That last photo was lifted from this fabulous blog called "Dragonfly Designs by Alisa" . The link puts you down at the Ottoman Steampunk page where she made an outfit using ..beetle wings. The beetle win...

Claudia and Claudia

(I still have photos I need to organize from Mitsuwa yesterday, I might get them up later tonight). I have spent most of today just cleaning and organizing--I have reached the point that either I need to figure out better storage, compress what I have, or sell a doll or two. It seemed easier to just go through what I have and mash it down more, which included assembling bodies and putting heads on them. I now have just enough room on the shelf to squeeze in an Iplehouse SID Stella, who will come once Iplehouse has caught up with the Christmas backlog (I will have a protracted Christmas since she was ordered in mid December). Then I will have to resort to making Poser dolls instead. For my own amusement I made a Poser approximation of Claudia (which will be Stella's name here) the Doll, trying to see how close I could get without looking at the Iplehouse photo of Stella. She ended up not being all that close, but it was fun to do. Poser Claudia has way more clothes than Doll Claud...

Put Your Hands Together For Vampire Stella...

Now that she is out, I do love her in gray (she has a fantastic faceup, especially her eyebrows). I'm less fond of the tongue, and some owners of Stella have complained they already have the human head--it might have made more sense to do the human head as the "Romantic" half-closed eye of the Vampire Stella but without the ears, tongue or fangs. And while Doria with a tongue was cool, it was enough to have one head like that, I think. Which is a shame because in every other way I think this is the most gorgeous sculpt. I love those ears!
