More Picture Links (and a Frog Princess)

Image
I just added more photo links of my own dolls to the inventory page , I will keep doing that as I find them. This Soom Coquina lives with Akutenshi now and looks far more regal at her present home, but this was a cute photo of her when she was here.  I found a lot of old pictures from New Jersey as I was looking through old photos, some of which remind me that as much as a mess the current house is-- the old one was pretty funky too. Voila the tub and wall, before it was all repaired and replaced. (That is a Luts Lishe being the tour guide in the tub photo. She supervised a lot of the repair construction before we moved. :D

Coquina and Cuprit

I am thinking of trading Myrtle off to a house where she will have clothes made for her--while I have been diligent in buying her wigs and shoes, she's had exactly one dress that was hers, ever. Since she is split across two dolls (her hooves are on Carissa) I though I would take a few minutes today and take head and hoof photos for anyone who wanted owner pix before ordering a Free Choice Coquina. Her hooves are pretty--they aren't as stable as Beryl's hooves, but they are easier to slip clothes on over. And they are cute! Here's the undignified full shot of them both--Myrtle's arm turned out to be the easiest way to prop up Carissa's skirt: Here is Carissa by herself--her faceup is by Charie Wilson, her lip is slightly sanded as well: And Coquina's cute little ears! Coquina takes bigger than usual eyes, too--those are 16mm in there. The wig is an 8-9, same as all the supergems I have had.

Listing and Showing (with skunks)

Image
Because there is a For Sale sign now in front of this place, the Servicemaster Carpet cleaning guys came in their patented truck, and cleaned the basement carpet. Thinking of the house I am hoping to buy, I asked about white plush carpet, and what they would recommend for pug pee. "Toss the carpet" was the answer. They were also not sure cleaning the carpet was all this house needed. "You've got some big cracks here." In fact the cracks have gotten larger, or I have started to notice them more, but it's true that in the winter I could open the side door downstairs, and now the corner of the house is resting on the doorframe, so the door won't open, and the vertical corner moulding is splintering and bowing outward. People are coming tomorrow to view the house, and while we have it clean, I have no more boxes to hide dolls in. There are no closets anyway, just like in New Jersey; and Stella, the newest arrival, has been sitting on a doll chair on ...

Not Feeling The Wig

Image
Soom Coquina "Stella", who is most likely getting the princess blonde wig instead. Here is the "more better" wig: And the much more better wig:

Frog Princess

Image
Myrtle up close. ;) She is supposed to have frog feet, but she is the only doll in the house that has shoes that fit properly, so I haven't made her frog feet, or hands. Today the realtor comes so we can look at more houses. I am not looking forward to it. Also, don't sneeze when you are pouring coffee.

Doll Scale

I opened a box last night (we are still bringing in boxes from the garage) and I found an old Ken doll. He needs to be repainted; years ago I would have just put him in the charity box, but now I know they can be repainted and fixed up, and I have always had a soft spot for this surfer blond guy. I put him next to my soom Coquina (who is wearing a dress sewn by Mercedes Lackey) and you can see their relative sizes. And the untidy living room/computer room.

Myrtle's Glasses

...were once worn by Stripey Cat when she was a kitten.

And now with eyelashes...

Image
Myrtle, my Frog Fairy (really a Soom Coquina) has had to wait months to get tightened, wired and her eyelashes put in properly. Since I had to borrow her body to take pictures of the Topaz, I felt it was time to fix her up. I don't know where that amazing wig came from originally; I got it from Las Vegas, or more precisely, from Aceinit in Las Vegas. Aceinit has an amazing collection of Soom dolls, including a really nice Sphaler I covet. I doubt she'll sell him.

Dollar wig

Image
Sometimes a dollar wig from Ebay looks like a dollar wig. But it's pink, and Myrtle (Soom Coquina) doesn't care. The azaleas were outstanding last Spring!
