The Fabric Empire Strikes Again

So I have not been too happy with any of Captain Aldwood's wigs, and I thought I would try making a fur one, so I looked on the Internet to find some novelty fur in brown. And as usual Fabric Empire had the best selection (including fuchsia, which really wasn't appropriate for Aldwood), so I ordered a teeny one yard swatch, forgetting that Fabric Empire does nothing small, and the bolts are insanely wide. So I now have enough fur to make my own Wookie. At least I can mess up the first..100..wigs or so I make. I also tried on one of the doll show dresses on Doria, who is the widest doll I currently own (not counting things like stuffed cats and Hello Kitty). The fit was not flattering but I can see how I can recut it to fit better. I like the color of the jacket especially: I'll probably take off the bodice, split the front of the skirt, add a green petticoat and just redo most of the jacket to have a slimmer fit. One Yard of Black Fur from Fabric Empire

I ordered it something like 3 days ago, hoping I could get maybe 4 doll wigs out of it. I think I can. :D http://www.fabricempire.com/ They have LOTS of faux fur, apparently in industrial widths. Best Accidental Cat toy ever--I tried to make a metal reinforced "banana" for the new Male Super Gem body because I had hoped to restring Bird so that the leg elastic went through the torso, which would put too much tension on the resin "banana" supporting the head. It turns out you can't run the strings up through the torso, because then he can't sit--he doesn't have the vertical hip cuts to let the string move: This would be ok if there was a space large enough for a knot in the hip tubes, but even Soom clipped the knot to just a nub, and it got jammed in one of the tubes. I ended up tightening the legs and then sewing the elastic together inside the hip cavity. Anyway, since my restringing was a fail, I still had the wool-covered banana left over: ...
