Sunday got off to a rocky start--we were out of milk and bread, it was supposed to storm, and I had to drive to Target in the truck since it was in the accessible slot in the garage and had AC. This was at an hour when I am not really qualified to run a toaster, much less a motor vehicle; but I got there OK, got my stuff, and even managed to resist the lure of 4.00 coffee in order to go home and make my own.  Then the storm veered off somewhere else, and it was sunny, so I decided to both dremel down the top of a body to fit Deesse/Danu's head on it, and to try using the iPoly dye to dye that junk body. ( The junk body was the former Headless Laurel, but Laurel has a head now, but it is now on a Loongsoul Cartoon Boob body, which is actually a lovely, beautifully posing body even if it looks like Hugh Hefner designed it) ("Was this really necessary?") Last week I bought this very nice Impldoll Idol Realskin body, and once I had unwrapped it and put away all the bits that came with it, I discovered that she didn't want to stand. I took a look at her ankles and they are different from both Coriel's and Erzulie's-- Erzulie is one of the first Idol bodies, and Coriel might be Idol version C-- and this one Version B--I hope so, because Coriel stands fine and I am hoping when my other Idol ships that she will have functioning ankles. Another person was asking about ankle balls on Den of Angels a few weeks ago, so there might have just been a batch where Impldoll was tinkering with the formula, maybe to make them like Iplehouse ankles (Impldoll, don't do it). Anyway, in the photo you can see how small they are and how they are sort of "inside" the foot well. Here they are,by request from chalyss , hauled from out of the closet-- Iplehouse Aurora and an Impldoll Delia. The Delia is taller at 70 cm, and you can see the difference better in this Not Safe For Work photo . The Impldoll Delia body will take Iplehouse heads, though the Impldoll Delia neck is slimmer than the Iplehouse neck, and the colors aren't an exact match: though Impldoll does offer a color matching service (I have never used it). There are some other differences and similarities--the Impldoll Delia torso is more elongated and thinner than the EID, though the bust is bigger (Delia's bust is a whopping 30 cm). The general style is similar to a scaled-up version of the old, smaller 65 cm Impldoll Star body, but Delia is missing the mobility cut in the thigh and the upper arms that the old Star body had. Impldoll has come out with an EID sized body, to be a set with the Impl Idol boy body, and I am interested in it--there are only two problems. One is that I have no confidence that I will like how the legs are strung--see, no hip slots. So there is some kind of Rube Goldberg thing going on inside those hips. The second thing is that I want the body for a Soom head, and while mysteriously all of Impl's previous releases "just happened" to be totally compatible with Soom parts, I have a suspicion that the neck on this girl is accidentally totally compatible with fat Iplehouse necks and not skinny Soom ones, especially looking at those looks-like-Iplehouse ankles. Which means if I want to put my Epidia head on her, I might have to cut down the neck, and I sold the last body I had just so I wouldn't be tempted to go hacking at it.
