The Nook, SD sized Yarn

Image
It's in Lisle. It has free wifi, candy, ice cream..and yarn. Also, at JoAnne's I found doll size yarn..not that my dolls knit either, but someone I know will like these! I don't remember how much they were (I bought a lot of other sale stuff at the same time, and I don't know where the receipt went) but they come in non-sparkle and pastel colors, too. Here's the tag and the SKU:

The Wisdom of Magda Sayeg

Image
If you have ever done signage, you have done this. Magda Sayeg is a artist and urban guerrilla knitter (and photographer too, I think). Go to her website to see the current projects, and spend a few minutes playing with the yarn kaleidoscope on her splash page here: www.magdasayeg.com

Yarn Tagging

Image
A friend sent me this picture of a bus, and after some digging I found the credits for it: Artwork by Magda Sayeg (Photograph by Cesar Ortega) In this crocheted masterpiece, artist Magda Sayeg yarn bombs an entire bus in Mexico City. Considered to be the mother of yarn bombing, Magda did her first solo exhibit in Rome at La Museo des Esposizione in the summer of 2010. Here is Sayeg working on the bus: I also discovered that yes, there are yarn taggers. And this is a "tank tag": And there is helpful advice on this blog: http://twilighttaggers.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-yarn-bomb.html Do you think they will start to check ID before they let us buy yarn? *cackles*
