Marshall's Home Goods Halloween

This was supposed to go up yesterday, but I went so many places during the day, I just came home in the evening and fell asleep. I went to a local metaphysical store, and it was fun but basic things were expensive, so I just got a book for a friend, and then I went to the dreaded Hobby Lobby to get my Satanic Candles and Halloween chalice (because they were way cheap there and it made me laugh--white and green candles 49 cents each--true, not Blessed By the Goddess but still perfectly functional) and a red Christmas wineglass for 6.00, which is good because there is always a chance the raccoons will knock it over trying to get at the Halloween sherry or whatever booze I have in there--though for everyone's sake, I will put in on a dirt surface and it might survive.  (I also went to Trader Joe's, a much more pedestrian place, though I did get fancy marshmallows to eat). Then J and I went to the mall because it was too nice to sit at home, and walked around. And of cour...

SID Iplehouse Doria, a 3.5 Hour Render, and a Halloween Spider

(The character here is Gypsyangel's Roxanne , for Victoria7 at Daz 3d.com) I did get the new version of Daz Studio (4.9) to install, and it is a lot better than 4.8 as far as I can tell. For one thing, it renders for me, even with the Iray renderer, which does not play well with my low end video card..but it does render. I will say that at first I had a bad time with it--it rendered everything in hot pink, ... which for some inscrutable reason is because Zone Alarm had quarantined freelibrary.dll, and once I had googled around, reinstalled Daz, and finally pried the .dll from the jaws of Zone Alarm, it worked fine. Zone Alarm still hates Daz Studio, with good reason, because Daz wants to be in constant contact with the mother ship, even if you are just rendering a decade-old flat plane with a beach scene, which probably shipped with Poser 4 or something. But now I am ready to become a content creator once more, or rather a content painter while someone else figures out ho...

We went to the mall and yes, to Marshall's Home Goods. They now put the really amazing decos in the middle, away from the mall door, but there are more than ever-- and I did buy a box to keep doll heads in (you see why the Home Goods buyers and I are on the same wavelength). There were tiny moose skull bookends, Buddha heads and hands, SD sized globes (tempting), and a James Gurney-like desk ornament (also tempting). There were a lot of gorgeous glass plates, and a couch pillow that we did buy. I need to go back when I am not distracted by weather and construction, both of which made it difficult to get to the mall and back home again. We also went into the unfortunately named Hot Rags and found some print bedspreads and fantasy T shirts, so it was a fun excursion. The cat has also been having a good time--she has been finding baby mice on the porch, and bringing them in to play with them--at the same time we bought her a box of stuffed mice, which she likes--but after a ...
