I'm not dead :D I have just had the worlds snottiest cold and I haven't felt up do doing the brainwork required even to write a post, but I DID test one of my friend gypsyangel's new character that will be coming out soon at Daz3d.com. She's Mariah and she comes with these gorgeous fantasy makeups! I did do a doll thing, too-- I finished one more tiny skirt for Cat, being careful not to handle it without a lot of hand washing. It's wrapped in tissue now so it won't get cat hair on it.

I've been working with some of Gypsyangel's new figures, which is why I have been behind in doll stuff. It's pretty much the same as dolls, but they store flatter and cost less. This is "Aryn" for G8 over at Daz, with Fabiana's Halloween Expansion wings for the Lumino Wings. (Renderosity.com)

I have been working on a set of eyes for Daz3d.com's Genesis figure--I discovered the eyes fit Genesis 2, 3 and 8 by accident, AND they fit the guys too. :D Though it's hard to see here, the eyes in Gypsyangel's Malice (from the Malice and Mayhem set) are my Dark Lemon. They look cool with the Dark Elf clothing set from Daz. :D Hopefully I will have all the promos done by Wednesday and turned in, but since I thought I would have them done by today, we'll see. Rendering always takes longer than I think it will. I am sorry to say I also bought another Genesis 8 character (Reciecup's Jaz) just to try my eyes in her, so I am not really making money here--especially since I bought her a digital dress, too. :o

I think I see a little tear where the brown cat can't reach the bird :D The white cat holds the rat the way I would..."ewww". I have no idea where the original illustration is from; it was from an essay on writing and came up in an unrelated Google search.  And speaking of unrelated, I did a quick render yesterday using my friend Mike Mapp's newest Renderosity product, "The Urban Jungle." Since my V4 model won't blink, and I still haven't tracked down why, I switched to Michael4 (who still blinks). I use him a lot less than V4 so I have far, far fewer clothes for him, though I did find some hair, a shirt and a leather vest (by Prae, part of a really cool fantasy set). Though you can't see, he has no pants ;) The finished title is "Harry Dresden Goes Shopping", presumably a late night run for books. The character is Quinn by gypsyangel, also at Renderosity. (The character here is Gypsyangel's Roxanne , for Victoria7 at Daz 3d.com) I did get the new version of Daz Studio (4.9) to install, and it is a lot better than 4.8 as far as I can tell. For one thing, it renders for me, even with the Iray renderer, which does not play well with my low end video card..but it does render. I will say that at first I had a bad time with it--it rendered everything in hot pink, ... which for some inscrutable reason is because Zone Alarm had quarantined freelibrary.dll, and once I had googled around, reinstalled Daz, and finally pried the .dll from the jaws of Zone Alarm, it worked fine. Zone Alarm still hates Daz Studio, with good reason, because Daz wants to be in constant contact with the mother ship, even if you are just rendering a decade-old flat plane with a beach scene, which probably shipped with Poser 4 or something. But now I am ready to become a content creator once more, or rather a content painter while someone else figures out ho...

Still in progress... (she needs "sleeves" among other things. Laura made her pretty face and base skin and I am doodling on top of that. (Laura is in fact doing most of the work here, I have just been doing the fun part).
