It turns out the rabbit has been eating the fallen birdseed, so I finally got the camera where I wanted to have a good shot of it. The eyes are still goofy, but that is just what the camera does. Of course some of the animals like to check out the camera up close: I think the raccoon has clued in to the fact that where the camera is, there might be treats. I sort of like the aesthetic of the random photos at the end of the sessions, too: I also got a pretty good one of the front of the skunk :D

I had some honey peanuts on a plate. The cat was very disappointed after checking them out: We have a lot of possums: We have at least two skunks: (The water bucket has a trough heater in it to keep the water from freezing, I have been very happy with it). And we have two foxes:  These doves are so cool: And of course squirrels: I'm not tired of them--these guys get enough to eat so they aren't the big garden pests they can be. Who knew a camera with a tiny pinhole lens and no viewfinder could be such fun? This is me now every night:

This is much further away from the house, and the animals seem a lot more relaxed; so I will probably keep the camera out there. J made a stand for the camera so it can be moved around more easily than the fiberglass urn that it was on before, too. I'm hoping to get the fox again--I can see the prints in the snow where they like to travel, so I will put the camera near the prints and cross my fingers. ___________________________________________________________________________ The doll show was, as usual, a lot of fun. It was also super crowded this year, so it was a little harder to paw through tupperware than in previous years--I still found a lot of inexpensive clothes and three pair of minifee shoes, which was great (especially at 3.00 a pair). He's PURPLE and ADORABLE..he is a Soom Dia shrunk down to fairy size. Cat gave me an Auber for Christmas and it is such a nice size--weighs nothing, fits in the palm of your hand, and poses amazingly well. The outfits tend to be just trim decorated and stitched together to fit, because these guys are sort of Ken sized--they can take Ken sized tops and jackets, and slim stretch pants. Nunu is a genius of small things. Very small things! If you go to their pinterest page, you can see lots of tasty-looking, very tiny food--as K said, a "feast for Warhammer guys". Check it out here . Meanwhile, in full scale, we have stuff in the yard: I'm not sure Stripey approves of all of it.

We did nothing special today--J went fishing, I played with the cat: (That is a sneeze, not a bad joke) I worked on an outfit for Valentine: And we got a visit from the Easter Raccoon: "You have a bit of millet  on your nose." "Yeah, right there...you might want to just take a swipe with your paw.." Happy Easter!

We have bumble bees in the backyard--not as many as previous years, but still some, and lots of honeybees from my neighbor's hives. This lady is covered with pollen: They don't seem to mind me weeding around them--I can reach my hand right past them and they don't even lift up and fly around, except to get to the next flower. I've been trying to plant more things to feed them, but their favorite item is the catmint, which luckily for both of us grows like a weed and blooms all summer. And speaking of blooms, the hosta has decided to bloom for a second time this year: Hummingbirds come by to check these out, and I would love to plant a hardy mandevilla or something to keep them visiting more often. I don't really like the feeders--I always feel like that is "junk food" for the hummingbirds and it keeps them from getting more nutritious food from the flowers. The picture is from Reddit, but the raccoons were here again last night, pulling up one of the bubblers as well as ten dollars worth of sea lettuce, dropping the torenia pot on the cactus, and biting off one end of the mystery teeth. Little buggers.

In the pond behind Balthazar (the Soom Sphaler with the Simply Divine Hooves), there are no fish. Now it is faintly possible they are under the filter, still too cold to swim around, but even when there was ice on the top of the pond, I could look down and occasionally see a nose or a tail, and I haven't seen anything for more than a week, in spite of dipping algae out of the pond and adding new bacteria, and taking the filter out, cleaning it, and putting it back in. So I suspect that Mr. Raccoon sometime in the past two weeks had himself a meal of little princess fish, or as I started calling them "Benjamins with Fins" after I looked at the electrical usage for February.
