Iceland doesn't seem to have a local diety in charge of volcanoes, which I find surprising, but if you ask you would get the response that "Iceland is a Christian country" and has been since people arrived roughly 800 AD or so. This seems like a gap in diety coverage so I present Pele here as a "fill in" for this important job of rolling lava about a landscape. :D

Sicktress sent the plumeria/puka shell bracelet, it's so pretty! Sicktress is a sweetie :D Here is the fabric I am working to get made into a dress..it's going sloooowly: The long piece is acrylic yarn over nylon net. I wish now I had used embroidery thread on fabric, for better drape, but it's interesting on it's own. It's supposed to be lava running into the ocean, or a somewhat abstract version of that. It will just loop on like a demented scarf. I have to take photos of what Rajendora sent me--super cute clothes! I am behind in everything at the moment. I have spent too much time writing stern notes to Congress, which does nothing-- but makes me feel slightly better.

I'm about 2/3 of the way done--I need to finish one of her extensions in the front, fix her bangs, and even out the bottom. I really want to stick a bunch of beads on the front as counterweights, but it might be a bit much. Working with yarn is so pleasant!

Iplehouse has gone from releasing the small FID dolls to two large, beautiful girls--both of them on the new HID body. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out  (Not Work-safe, you need to be logged in)--the sculpting of the collarbones is especially nice and detailed, and I love the 65cm height--the same as the old Super Gem girls. So here is Aileen , a new sculpt, and here is Aaliyah ... ... a reissue of the original Addiction Dark Elf that I still regret that I did not have the money to buy as a fullset, with her silver hair and red outfit. But then I would have had to keep her in a case, so it all worked out. :D (Also, you have to keep Iplehouse's pleather sets cool and dry-- or eventually, like most pleather, they will crack.)

Aaliyah is shipping now from Iplehouse (Iplehouse is fast!) and Sarqq has already sat down and painted her up...and I like hers better than the default! It was a bit of genius to add the cyborg eye, I think--it would not have occurred to me to make her a SF character but she looks incredible. Also, it make me perfectly happy that I didn't order her--whenever I want to see the best Aaliyah ever, I can just go to Sarqq's Deviant Art page and see her: http://sarqq.deviantart.com/ Sarqq has some other new photos up too--it's worth a visit, always!
