First up is a render I finished today, of gypsyangel's Marinda, now in the Renderosity.com marketplace--she is for Genesis3, and is wearing a wild clothing set from Ignis Serpentus (at Daz3d.com). She reminds me of the old Bird Woman Magic card from the first MTG set. (I think Kaja Foglio did the art for that one) And now Pumpkin Progress: Not entirely green...and here is one of my little bee neighbors: Here is the squashed box of the 2 pairs of new Soom Eyes--the "New Style" which look a lot like the old style, but they are very nice: Luckily everything inside was fine: I was hoping the Amber was more gold, and closer in color to the limited Benmore eyes; I found the "lost"  Benmore eye with the TV camera I have, but I can't reach it--it's under the built-in benches in the kitchen. I need to rig a net over the vaccuum hose and see if I can grab it that way. But I thought it would be way easier to just order clean new ones--but they...

Pretty darn green. I typed in "Why is my pumpkin..." into Google and it autofilled to "Still green?" Well, yes. It turns out that the big leaves were shading the pumpkin, and it needs sunlight to turn color. Seeing that we have a whole two weeks until Halloween, I think this will just have to be a green Jack O Lantern. It is big, though!

It's a Christmas ornament from JoAnn's--I just pulled off the eyelet holding the string. They have a variety of animals--I thought this guy was the cutest and also had fur that was obviously plush, and not ...something else. I had intended it for Coppersmith, but the Nuevo body is just enough bigger that the dog looked out of scale, and for some reason Coppersmith's hands don't naturally fit around these little guys. Like a real dog, he sheds--Aldwood has black poly "fur" on his shirt now. I've wanted pet dolls for my guys, but 15.00 is much more possible than 200.00+, even though the ornament isn't posable. I went out last evening..and SOMEONE TOOK A BITE OUT OF MY PUMPKIN. No more of that, I say. Fortress Pumpkin:

It's hard to see, but that is a 9-inch green pumpkin lurking in there. It is already larger than anything I have grown, including last year's cabbage heads. Even if something comes and eats it, I have grown a pumpkin! I have plans to put them in front next year, as they really need maximum sun--you can see a bit of powdery mildew going on here, from being in humid shade.  I don't feel like I have to eat them, they can be decorations too--unlike the tomatoes.  As of today, I am down to 2 tomatoes, and the chipmunks have learned to pick the cherry tomatoes on the deck. As the saying goes, "I ain't even mad", but grateful someone is eating them and they are not going to waste. We seem to have picked up a local possum too--I have seen it twice now at night, rummaging through pineapple rinds and corn cobs out inthe compost pile; and there were bite marks on some of the tomatoes as well. I was OK with that. I like possums, as long as they aren't living in m...

So this is the Zombie version of the Loli Hat. Almost everything on the hat, including the fabrics, exist as real objects in my house, (including the eyeball), and if I hadn't had so much trouble with the band around the base of the crown, it would have been done yesterday. So here is the story of the pumpkin--we bought a huge pumpkin at a "Farmers Market" at the York Mall--about 20 pounds of it and really round, like a Cinderella coach. In past years we have always put them outside until we were ready to carve them, and now and then a squirrel would decide to get creative and do a little carving on their own--usually they make a hole, get inside and eat the seeds. So J came home, day before yesterday, and said "Where is the pumpkin?" Of course I had no idea. This what was what was left when I went to look at the place where the pumpkin had been, on the edge of the front steps: (Please note that we have a Halloween-appropriate "headless cat" here....

So yesterday we went to Trader Joes, and they have gone nuts with pumpkin flavored things. Here's some of the things they offer in pumpkin flavor: Pumpkin Bread mix (we bought that), Pumpkin Spice Coffee, Pumpkin Pancake and Waffle Mix, Pumpkin Ice Cream, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins, Pumpkin Spiced Pumpkin Seeds, Mini pumpkin pies, Pumpkin Croissants, Pumpkin Bagels, NonFat Greek Pumpkin Yogurt, Pumpkin Spice Granola, Pumpkin Flavored Joe's O's They also had Organic Canned Pumpkin and of course, Pumpkins. I still need to get a regular jack o' lantern pumpkin.

I finally found ice cube trays. We had gone to Tuesday Morning, a odd-lot store that has a ton of kitchen things at discount prices, and even they didn't have a single tray, not even novelty ones. I was starting to think the only people that still carried ice cube trays were the "novelty" stores, and I would have to drink next summer's ice tea with little penises bobbing around in them. But the manager at Tuesday Morning said that while she hadn't been able to find any for her store, Dollar Tree had "lots" ("and for a dollar!"). So we drove over there and not only did they have standard cube trays, they had novelty Halloween ones. For a dollar. I also picked up another Squeaky the Rat since the last Squeaky went to live with catcara , though in return she sent me the Flocked Spider of Awesomeness.
