Iplehouse EID hands on A Granado Nuevo Female Body

Image
I got a request to try EID hands on the Granado body and I was "Nah, won't fit.." I was so happy to be wrong! Iplehouse sells hands as option parts so you can get some different poses for your girls. Here is the page at Iplehouse . The hand shown is an Iplehouse WS hand on a Nuevo NS body. I think Iple NS is close to the Granado NS.

Granado Female Nuevo Hip Stringing

Image
I have a factory-strung Granado Nuevo body now, and I finally yesterday got around to restringing the older body I had here. The elastic is separated into three pieces, one for each leg and one for the upper body and head. The legs have the ends of the strings tied in a knot inside the hip to a resin hook. See how the hips now stick out? It turns out this is a good thing--not only does it make her stand more securely, she actually has more side to side mobility for some reason. (The sueding really helps too, as Granado resin is very polished, and I am not good with hot glue). But best of all, she now sits easily! This is a great body for Soom heads, by the way!

A Dress From Nightengale Needles

Image
I try not to buy too many clothes, but the doll population has exceeded the clothing supply, and I sew like a snail. On Valium. In January. So when I adopted the LMOD Beryl from Nightengale, I also picked out a dress as well--it's gorgeous! Cecilia looks good in it, but so do all the Soom girls. I am not sure who will end up wearing it all the time, but Cecilia definitely gets to keep the hat.

The Dress on Cecilia

It fits perfectly--it's too bad it's not in great shape. (Some of the trim is hot-glued on.) I'm hoping to take a pattern off it later.

Cecilia Again

Image
Another day, another wig; but I really like this one--I think she will keep it. It's a Monique Double Irish Red Hope from Facets by Marcia, who is always so wonderful to buy wigs from.

A Strange Merman

Image
I'm waiting to hear back from the art director on the latest version of a cover I am working on--I always think they will get back to me in a couple of hours, because the old art director was BAM "OK, we need you to lighten this and move the type over here," sometimes within minutes, so the whole cover from start to finish would take less than a week. Now, with the new world order, it can take a week just to get an interim version approved. Half the time I can't remember what I was doing..."there was a file? What was it called?" because so much time has passed and other projects and crisis domestique have intervened. But I was hoping we'd be done by five tomorrow, so instead of washing the kitchen floor I painted up the Ken head, into what has to be the strangest faceup I have ever done. I am not sure I like it, but at the same time it's so weird it's kind of interesting. And I invested way too much time hand-placing individual clumps of eyelas...

The Woman of a Thousand Wigs

Image
Yesterday my mailman showed up at 10 AM, on the basis that he had an "Express Package"; it turns out that someone at the suburban sorting center had misinterpreted what Express Mail Service actually means once it hits the US (regular First Class, as far as I can tell, it's basically "Mail from Overseas that has been through Customs".) It was my Granado Katrien head; I wasn't expecting her because she had sat around in Customs at O'Hare for three days because of the holiday, not being updated. So her dress wasn't finished, partly because I also have had real work to do, and there is a chipmunk loose in the house; which is another story. Anyway, I had ordered and received a wig for her, but once I put it on I wasn't thrilled with it, pretty though it was: So I tried a rapid succession of other wigs. (Katrien is a BIG head from Granado, I think she could wear Leeke and Volks wigs, size 9) (I just love that fantasy rainbow one on her; I may try ...
