Iplehouse Carina on a Impldoll Muscle Body

Image
It's a pretty good fit--of course I have an NS Carina and a WS Impldoll Muscle body, but you can at least see the proportions. For myself, I would put a small spacer at the top of the neck--maybe a circle of cardboard, just something to lift her up another half-centimeter or so. Here is the full view, no wig: And with a wig: In person her head isn't quite as large--the macro lens I use tends to make everyone a little bobble-headed, but having her head up a little will help too. Here is the body's proper owner, an Impldoll Azalea: Her head sits a little higher on the neck and I think looks better. Here is the full view: She has a broken finger here, but I have new hands for her from Alices Collections (jointy hands) so the finger problem will be solved. I like this body a lot, it would be perfect for a Wonder Woman--though if I was going to hybrid for that I would probably take a Iplehouse Stella head instead--Stella's head is a bit closer to Azalea...

Party Girls

Hecate and Five Eyes, probably around 2Am somewhere :D Five Eyes has a body, the Loongsoul big busted body formerly supporting Laurel's head, and it's the right size for her large head (She is intended as a male sculpt, so she actually fits better on boy bodies.) Here is one reason I wanted to take Laurel off of it: Yes, that is four pounds, nine point five ounces. Laurel is supposed to be outside a lot, and that is a heavy body to lug across public parks with a camera. Laurel says the weight is all on top. I do need to make her a new top, since this crocheted thing is too big for the smaller Fantasia bust. The new Fantasia body is fun to pose and feels a lot lighter without the resin feeling thin or plasticy.  The wired arms are strong, too--the beads here are fairly heavy and she supports them without any problem. I did a lot of gardening and weeding today but took no photos (it was really muddy). I put in two peppers and bought a cherry tomato, some fennel a...

Rabbits and Eyes

We went to the J.C. Penny's near us--I am quite sad that they are closing this store, it is full of fun things and the staff was always pleasant and wonderful. Sephora is already packed up and gone, but the display people are still trying to keep a little cheer going--and some goofiness too--found in the kitchen section: A fake potato hidden in one of the display pots :D K put the lid back over it after we took it's picture.  We also went a lot of other places today, including the Salvation Army and checked out the formals--I found a big prom dress with a silk skirt and K found one with netting that looks like a fairy dress. (I will take photos of them tomorrow). I did do a few repairs (or tried to) to Red Riding Hood's upper arms.  The resin cracked around the edges of the "ratchet hole" and one arm is cracking there--I tried putting apoxy sculpt on one arm and it is lifting off--either the arm wasn't quite clean enough or the apoxy is old--eit...

Various Newcomers

Image
This is a Soom Phonolus, the human "romantic eye" version, in Tawny. I have him purely from the generosity of Sicktress --I had bought the peach gold Iplehouse body he is on a while back, and then wasn't too successful in finding a loose Iplehouse Peach Gold head that I liked that would fit. (He is supposed to go on a MegaGem body, but my chances of finding one in tawny are slim to none). So she not only sent me his head, but also an adorable modded Elfdoll Ryung head: I also found the head to the Boyd body that I bought from Gus--it was originally Miss Ally's, and I was so hoping Gus could find the head--but no, Miss Ally had sold it in 2011 to Mosiacwolf, and it sat in a drawer until a week or so ago, when Mosiacwolf listed in on Den of Angels, and I happened to spot it! So he is all together again and my Headless Body Count is down to ... four at this point. Here is Boyd: Granado Boyd Boyd was the first doll that Granado released, and I am thrilled to ...

Oscar Eyes and Eyelashes

Iplehouse Carina So Fabric Friends and Dolls  just got in an order of Oscar Eyes, and there were lots in the 12mm and 14mm size I use the most. I also had money in the PayPal, which is always dangerous. :D These are 12mm Silver Galaxy, and in person they are so sparkly and wonderful; I will try to take more photos during the day to see if I can capture how bright they are. They also fit well in the difficult Iplehouse eyes--Hecate has slightly larger than most eyes, so some 12 mm still gap. The Oscars fit perfectly. They are nice and heavy flat-backed resin, with lots of detail you can't see in this light. Here is another shot, still pretty murky: These have pupils, too--just a lot of glitter in front of them! I also did something different with her eyelashes--normally I glue them in with Aleen's Clear Tacky Glue like a responsible adult, but I was lazy and took tape and taped in the lashes. This is pretty easy to do--you still need tweezers to get them placed correct...

Hecate

Image
She came partly unassembled from Princess Bane, with a splendid artist faceup that alas, chipped off  her forehead because of the cold...I think she went from a heated warehouse to spending several hours below freezing in the back of the mail truck. So I redid it somewhat last night--she still needs silvery eyes. (The round Safrins don't quite fit, though 14mm is the right size.) She also needs her own clothes--I am glad I waited to start on a dress for her, because she looks much nicer in wine and gold than the black and white I had planned for her. Such a gorgeous sculpt--maybe my favorite now from Iplehouse. Here is a profile view: For an Iplehouse girl, she has a big head-- eight and a quarter inches around, which means she needs a size 8 wig. I will take more photos of her once she has more clothes! The poor thing has to wait in line behind my current project and Nikki's outfit, as well as actual work. She sits and stands so amazingly well on her classic EID body....
