This is much further away from the house, and the animals seem a lot more relaxed; so I will probably keep the camera out there. J made a stand for the camera so it can be moved around more easily than the fiberglass urn that it was on before, too. Here are a couple of photos from Saturday night: A mouse: A pretty good skunk photo! I'm hoping to get the fox again--I can see the prints in the snow where they like to travel, so I will put the camera near the prints and cross my fingers. ___________________________________________________________________________ The doll show was, as usual, a lot of fun. It was also super crowded this year, so it was a little harder to paw through tupperware than in previous years--I still found a lot of inexpensive clothes and three pair of minifee shoes, which was great (especially at 3.00 a pair). This is actually Cat's birthday present--she was born on Halloween! How cool is that? Anyway, it came from Target but I felt it had insufficient bling and I underestimated how long it would take to bling it and line it. Since I have been working, the cat twice now has brought me lunch at the computer: She comes down the hall, drops it in the studio, and leaves. I always thank her. Mostly for not dropping them off alive! She was not willing to pose in the recent Iplehouse box, btw: Fall has come and there are a million mice and voles on the march out there--it is a pretty time of year, though. And finally, today's Hat, with the proudest Raven in the land: The front with the veil, which IMO needs a little tweaking:

This is Stripey being a good cat. This is Stripey being a bad cat, biting through the battery wires to my tiny LED lights on my mini tree. :p And this is Stripey, being a good cat and leaving me a mouse (almost under the tree). J fixed the lights so everyone is happy.

This was taken around 6:24 in the morning, when two things happened--it started to smell so much like skunk in the bedroom it made my eyes water (I think a skunk likes to sit under the hostas right outside the bedroom window, but it's also looking like maybe one has figured out some nook or cranny just outside the basement to lurk in.) In any case, usually I just open the window on the other side of the house and try to ignore the smell, but there was also a bang from the kitchen and the cat decided it was time for me to get up NOW since she doesn't like skunks and/or strange noises. So I staggered out to the kitchen and it looked like metro Chicago was on fire,(though it was just the sun coming up) so I took a photo, and started to check around to be sure the skunk wasn't on the porch. No skunk on porch, or at least what I could see through the kitchen window--the back door was shut and locked. So I checked mousetraps under the sink. No mice. I fed the cat and took anothe...
