Angela here looks pretty much like I did this morning..sweats and a dressing gown, with her own doll (a very messed-up Liliana Vess I got off a sale table). If you buy your own Liliana, be sure that she is Removed From Box and that she is functionally movable. We are all recovered from last week's food poisoning episode, but I'm still tired--I did manage to do the floors and the kitchen, and do a few hours of actual work on the computer: but I didn't get around to dyeing a doll body, finishing a wig I am working on, or either painting Snow White/Ashley or sewing a overdress for Deesse, Sicktress' girl, who might be here Wednesday. J did finish the blanket chest, aka The Ark of the Covenant: It should hold most of our blankets over the summer--I need to get some more lavender bags to throw in there as well. I also got some fun mail--a box of wonder from Chalyss, full of gorgeous batik clothing (!) and a box from Pegapup, containing a doll that we have been passin...

Box From Australia

I occasionally buy dolls from Australia--it's never a problem, except for the punishing postage fees, and it's usually about 2 weeks. This box, possibly delivered by crocodile, took only a week. Thavron (her first owner) is fly to the ways of the post, and wrapped everything very, very carefully: And after some unwrapping, here is her head! This is the Soom Snow White (the Shadow, human version in a rosy gray). She came with extra hands and one-piece heel feet; which I would have put on, but the elastic was already cut to fit on the conventional legs so I was lazy and just put those on instead when I assembled her. I noticed that the hip/pelvis hole was drilled large enough to fit the knot through on this body, so stringing the legs was a lot easier--this girl also had the wonderful Easy Pose pieces. It's a wonderful body in so many ways, and this particular one was well-cast, too. Here she is with a Withdoll Angela ("Rosy Brown", which is mostly gray ...

Withdoll Angela

Image
Rather surprisingly, I am now the owner of a Dark Elf Withdoll Angela. She is mini sized, about the same size and shape as a Tonner fashion doll, which for me is ..tiny. Tiny little hands, tiny size 10 mm eyes, though 12mm fit too if you don't mind a larger iris. She is beautifully made, and sharp and clean inside. I can't mess up her elastic as I have none that size--maybe 3mm or smaller. She has magnet hands, which I am not really crazy about as I can't lose these--I think Withdoll no longer makes this color, and I am her 4th owner. So far I have sort of a face for her: Also a pair of eyes, drying right now (pupilless glitter eyes) And hopefully this Saturday I can sew her some basics, and eventually a more complicated outfit. I did pick out a name for her by opening up a dictionary; so meet "Nike Pinecone, Dark Elf Magic User." The name cracks me up, but I am grateful for the dictionary's help. Otherwise she would have been "Rosy Brown", her o...
