The Saga Continues...

Image
We have been having some kind of leak, probably from the dishwasher, for about a week, from the ceiling under the kitchen to the basement floor. I started washing dishes by hand, but there was still water in the basement. So last night I decided to listen and see if I could hear where it was dripping upstairs, and then I made the fatal error of trying to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet, which I think sheared off the hot water supply. So then of course I heard A LOT of water and the basement became a rain forest. Even more aggravating, the shutoff valve under the sink did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and we ended up turning the (brand new) valve to the main, which shut off the water... but which  also meant that we have no water. So in theory the plumber will come out again today to collect his second payment on his yacht, assuming his wife doesn't have her baby and that neither he or his buddy Mike have the flu. Anyway, I did take a couple of photos of the outfits that Ar...

A Meet-Up Tomorrow

Image
I am bringing 5 dolls and it took me ALL DAY to locate shoes, wigs and jewelry that was presentable for these guys. I need to start drawing names out of a hat and each week make one complete outfit for each doll, so that if they have a chance for an outing, they have something to wear..both tops AND pants. I never did find Rusty the Vampire's cravat, though it has been floating around on table tops for weeks. Up there is Isley, named after Poison Ivy. She always has good shoes, though I just today realized that they don't zip all the way up her calves 0.o After this photo I found shoes and a witch's hat for Cherry, though she still looks a little chilly to me. Rusty, saying "Who needs a cravat anyway? Blaa." This girl needs her own clothes--she got the cast-off tights I made for Naomi and decided they weren't good enough, a skirt that belongs to Tanglewyn, and a corset owned by Cecelia, who is a Granado Nuevo and has a similar wide shoulder. Cor...

Sicktress/Miro new body part 2!

Image
Sicktress' Mirodoll Muscle Body Part One ------ Okay, today I redid the string so it has the knot in the torso, and not coming out of the neck, and I investigated some clothes. The pants she is wearing are from doll.i.com according to the tag, and they fit perfectly. She is more or less SID sized, though it looks like she can wear those older Delf boy pants. I think her shoulders are a little wider, though. The shirt she has on used to belong to a bear, so it doesn't count, but EID shirts fit her fine, though a little loose in the waist. She actually has the PERFECT body for corsets, and though I hadn't thought of a snow goddess wearing an 18th century corset, I think I will make her one anyway. I think her shoes are somewhat similar to the Soom male feet in size--it's a pretty sculpt, one of my favorites out of the other girls I will put up here for comparison. This is with Ashley, a Soom Snow White, on the body. Soom's gray is a lot warmer and more br...

Anita's Flickr

Anita's Soom Nephelin  Anita in Iowa (AnitaS on Den of Angels) has such a nice Flickr--I go occasionally and flip through it when I should be ironing or mopping floors, and it's so enjoyable--I think she does many of the faceups and most of the clothes. Also she is selling this Souldoll Karin on Den of Angels and right now the price is 400 plus shipping; which is crazy great for a tan Souldoll Zenith , whose base price is 600 before you add the faceup-- and the tan was limited. (You do need to be a Den of Angels member to see this listing, though it is on her Flickr as well.) Souldoll Karin

Miss Nephelin, Miss Migma and an Odette..and a Possum

So here was my attempt at getting a "cheap White Skin old Soom Super Gem body" for Honey, my Soom Cass. While this Soom Nephelin was extremely affordable, (less than half of what a new one would have cost back in 2011) she has...a head. So I couldn't bring myself to take it off and put Honey's head on it. I have also gotten used to Honey on that ridiculous Longsoul boy body... so here is  "Liana", who now is going to cost me a little more as I have a "Want to Buy" on Den of Angels for her default horns and wig. Though I think I can make her a somewhat similar braided wig myself. Also I may darken her faceup a little--it may have faded a bit over time from the original. But she is very sweet! I had thought I could put her on Dragael's body and time-share, but I had forgotten that Dragael has Normal Skin resin, and Dragael was also was having none of this body sharing nonsense: I do have wings for her, thanks to Cat--I just need to paint ...

Stuff in the Mail

First up, Sicktress fixed Dragael's wings (she also named her, so it seems appropriate). Unfortunately, it turns out the Nephelin wings are sort of custom drilled, so the holes on each side of her torso aren't drilled the same: (You can see where I need to put the magnet back in as well. But after seeing Sicktress working on her guy to build up his back, I think I will do a small scale version of the same, and drill out that left wing hole where it needs to be, and fill in the other holes completely with LaDoll. The wings will be in just one position, and that is ok with me. I also got a pair of Soom Monzo wings and they have a sort of hex key connector which is a million times more sensible than the magnet and pin assembly--you can change the angle but the wings are in there securely: And Mom sent me two wonderful things! A dress, which Ereshkigal promptly stole: It's sparkly and has a lot of center detail that you can't see from this angle, as I was just trying ...

Enter the Dragon

I bought the 5 star Angelo head from cheesedemon88 because I loved, loved the faceup and the eyes. The question was-- what body to put her on? Cheesedemon had her on an old Soom Super Gem body, so I knew the head would fit ok on that neck. But which Soom old body? I had a Nephelin torso from AnchixdPix , from my attempt to get my painted Nephelin wings from Cat on someone , preferably my WS Dia. I had tried making a harness, and that wasn't too successful so far--the wings are heavy. So I bought the Nephelin torso, but it turned out to be Normal Skin (I have no idea why I thought it was WS). Also, the wings that Cat gave me are old creamy White Skin rather than new white, and my Dia is new white. The Nephelin torso was NS--but it does hold the wings...mostly. So I have now two pairs of Nephelin lower legs, one WS and one NS, one pair of old Creamy White wings, and a Normal Skin torso and fancy hands. The extra pair of Nephelin claws was for Polly, as a replacement for her hu...
