  Soom now has a calendar of releases on their website (they have had it for a few months now and it's pretty useful to see what is coming in the current month. This month it lists Super Gem Jet as the release (Korean time) on September 9th. I must have slept through the first release but you can look at his pretty face here: https://gem.dollsoom.com/en/shop/jet-desert-mercenary/ I'm think he looks more like Cute Shepherd Guy, possibly a Nativity extra, rather than a hardened desert mercenary :D His original release clothes were quite fabulous, so I am curious to see what he'll be wearing this time. I would be tempted to do a "Genie that Resembles a KPop idol" myself, but that is just me :D He kind of reminds me a little of Puss In Boots, with a sweet and thoughtful expression. And my Amber came!!!! I have photos tomorrow, I just need to load them onto the computer and clean them up a little.

  It's Amber in the new, 59cm size! The photography is exquisite! As is the outfit; sadly for me her ears are still the original cute deer ears, which I never could get a wig to stay on. I took a look to see if the pink wig was being offered for sale (Soom wigs are really nice, they are heavier than Monique's and less likely to tangle) and while this pair were not offered, I found some wigs from the back catalog that I wanted and ordered those, and some eyes, since I knew the EMS was going to cost me around 50.00 anyway. I really wasn't tempted by the fantasy body, though it's quite lovely and looks sturdy and proportionate--I have learned that one or two hoofies are fun, but after a while they start agitating for stockings and shoes, and I have to go toss around the marketplace and ebay for legs and feet. It's so nice to see the Super Gem girls again; the mid size/mini Gem dolls are cute, but aren't my favorite--the Soom princesses are my very favorite dolls, a...

Merry gets a head,(the Impldoll Christopher head I have had for ages), Antoine the Were-Deer gets the Benmore Human head (but tragically can no longer fit in his favorite coat): And Robyn, the Pointy-Ears head, is stuck on a Migma body for now: He will probably get a boy body later. Here he says "Dude, I like this wig." Merry does not look pleased.:

I think this is the most "fairytale" of all the Ambers I have seen--I love that she is sitting for a formal Victorian portrait, too! ...And I love her jaded expression. Rumpelstiltskin lives in Spain, and paints all kinds of Soom (and other) dolls; including a rather cheerful Soom Sard (who knew that guy could smile a little?) There is also a nice Vampire Migma in there. And it is amazing. This is the first "dark" Soom Amber I have seen, and to add to the wonder, Sarqq created black horns for her out of Cernit that I like more than the original Soom horns. This Amber belongs to Anneke on Den of Angels--same mold as the one HerrZog painted, but this one is the Free Choice Amber in Bronze, so she looks suprisingly different, but still very good. I keep meaning to send a head to Angel Toast (who is based in the US) but once a head is professionally painted, then it's stuck that way--I can't move the eyebrows or suddenly wonder how a purple tattoo would look! Yes, it's time to visit HerrZog's Flickr again and see what is new--there is also a pale Lishe that looks like an elegant vampire, and a rather adorable Soom Sard--usually Sard looks unhappy, but HerrZog's painting makes him look handsome and even a little playful. Amber has grown on me--when I first saw her at Soom I thought the idea was wonderful but that her face looked a little blank and frightened (like a real deer!) but since then, numerous repaints have made me see how pretty she can be.
