Today I went to the Chitown Dolls Spring Meetup, and I ended up coming home with new friends..this lady was from a trade with Akutenshi; I also finally succumbed to Kiyono's Galena, and Jo sent me her Erica Snow, so I have a lot of photos to load up over the next 3 days (I also have to ship out dolls to balance things out). I love trades :D So here is "Cherie" who is just barely not-a-tiny (she is a..small msd/fairy). That is my story and I am sticking to it. Also Kris the Resinsoul Ju needed a friend, though I think she will probably use him for a chew toy. And she is SO CUTE. While I like these eyes, I have another tiny pair of "oil slicks" I'd like to try in her, since I do like pupilled eyes--but they may not fit. I will find out tomorrow. Tokoz Dragon gave me books!! Lots of tiny, gorgeous, handmade books! You can see that Coppersmith and Aldwood are glad to have something to pass the time while sitting on the shelf: (The dark blob at...

Look at this little booklight I found last night at Bed, Bath and Beyond! It was 6.99 and moves just like it's desktop counterparts. It has 3 L71 button batteries inside of it and it's quite bright--it's got an LED bulb in it. Tilly and Julian are shown messing with it. (I am tempted to get Tilly more Tokidoki Unicornos.)

I took a LOT of photos. One of the things I did was to put the photos in a folder, and come back the next day and look at them again as thumbnails; then I waited 3 or 4 more days and looked at them again full sized. This way I was a little more objective in sorting. I figured I would do 4 photos that were more "client oriented", as if I were doing promo pix, and then allow myself one personal fave, no matter how stupid :D. This was my personal one, even though it's really a snapshot and the items in it are not all to scale: In the other Mads/Teodore one I submitted, I was careful to hide most of the non-granado hands as well as I could (I think the hand is the weakest part of the top photo here): The one I entered of Sidonia (Ami) made me worry the most--a lot of her is the Soom Cyborg body, not the Granado Nuevo body, and as a company I wouldn't want the competitor's body featuring prominently in a photo--so I ended up making the photo monochrome to sort of b...

...a shoelace, some shirt pins, a paper towel, some picture wire, part of a 4 way mirror box, and a slurpee top, all glued into some kind of infernal doll prop machine. Oh, and bamboo skewers and a quartz crystal.

Still working on Fabio's faceup--I need to clean floors today so I can't spend all day poking at dolls, but another Den of Angels member had a question about Gabe's joints on the Lads body, so I took a picture of them. They are the "peanut" joints and they are awesome.

I got two boxes today from Granado, as a surprise (they came really fast) and I thought I would put up a couple of photos of Fabio first. I did a test faceup of him today, but I think I might have to take it off a redo it tomorrow--it's not quite right. Here's the gorgeous blank sculpt up close: And with the unsatisfactory faceup. He needs thicker brows and a different angle, plus the eyelashes are not great--he needs some custom ones. But I think he is wonderful! Here is the other fellow who came today, Gabe on a Lads body. Both bodies are really excellent posers. I will post more Lads body detail photos tomorrow!

Fabio is up at Granado--you can get him as a head or a full doll. I am going to get him as a head as my car needs work, poor thing. I actually am not keen on how his lips are painted here, so I would suggest going here: http://doll-granado.com/fabio and checking out the blank sculpt. Granado is really good about putting up unpainted, good head shots.
