Sold Heads

Image
I freely admit I am a doll churner.. I buy dolls, I play with them, I sell them. I really wish there was a rental service where you could rent them and return them, but the way I do dolls is pretty close. I just like seeing them in person, looking at the engineering, fiddling with the posing, taking a few photos, and then "Next!" I do have a few dolls that have been here for a long time--My Dollzone Shengxi (Which no one in their right mind would buy anyway), my Shushu, which I will not sell because Christine Sorton painted her before she passed away from leukemia, much too young; and my Iplehouse Denzel and IOS G, because they have been here in one form or another since I lived in New Jersey. I got Denzel in 2010, which seems like it was eons ago now. But recently I have been trying to get the overall number of dolls down to a rational amount, aka "thirty", and despite some sales I haven't been too successful. I did sell the Ariadoll Gravity boy in the fir...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Underwear found at Target. :) I missed posting yesterday because I picked up some garbage, I finished doing photos for the Granado Photo Contest, and I did my taxes, mailed my sister's Christmas present (I am so bad) and went out to eat in Naperville at Schmaltz's Deli. Here is one of the elements from the photo contest--poor Alexei pretending to be drowned in the pond: Some spring flowers by the soon-to-be removed pond: The pond with a sprouting water lily--alas, I found it as I was baling out the bottom of the pond, so it's doomed Once it warms up next week I will be filling up the hole with new dirt and compost and putting in annuals instead. My frog supplier went out of business :(. Here's a couple of random photos, one of a present from Akutenshi ; Shirahoshi the Giant Mermaid (small in the figure here) Some cool clouds by the cell tower when I went to vote: And finally a couple of photos from Schmaltz' Deli; pickles and bagel chips and a Chicago Dog: ...

Tiny Calendars

Image
I love calendars, especially art calendars--and I don't throw them away when the year is over, I cut out the pictures that I like the most and frame them (free art with purchase of calendar!). So I was scissoring up a Kinuko Craft calendar and looked on the back, where they have the tiny images for you to see before you buy the shrink wrapped calendar, and I realized they were perfect sd size. This one even had the months underneath the images. Usually they just have the images in blocks like this: In that case you have to do a bit of cut and paste on an index card, with the image on top. Then open up the calendar and grab one of the "previous/next month" calendar images: ..and snip out the dates you want and paste them down. And there you have a nice calendar page to stick up on the wall of a doll's room! For scale, here is Violetta, who is an SD sized girl: (Alexei is sort of a zombie, which is why his eyes are rhinestones. It makes sense to me :D)

A Dead Guy, A Countess and A Bird

This is Gravitas, (an Ariadoll Gravity) who is acting as Teodor the Necromancer's assistant. It's hard to get good help these days--Gravitas ends up being a liability, I think, but meantime he was seriously fun to paint. I should have taken a photo of his hands-- but I will next week, as I have a doll meet tomorrow. So I have been busy finding shoes and boxes and wigs. Tara, Soom Beryl and Ereshkigal, (Granado Gabe on a Soom Topaz body,) are all dressed and ready to be boxed here: Bird, Soom Tremo can't find his shoes (I am not sure he can find his feet, much less clothes, but he is a pretty boy:) And after a lot of sewing I discovered that the Countess Constance, Lady Aldwood, (who is an Iplehouse Doria) wouldn't fit in the limited space in the car, after all the others had been stuffed in; so she has to go to some event later. By then her corset should be hemmed and her nails done. :D

Waiting for Pants

Image
Having received some great shirts from Aernath's Shirt Shack , Coppersmith (Granado Xavier) is now waiting for Sewing Box Design's pants--I decided Rajendora could make ones that actually fit better than I could! The other two rascals there are a Soom Epidia on a Resinsoul body, and an Ariadoll Gravity on a Luts body of some kind. Here is everyone slightly more prepared for a photo, the shirt on Coppersmith is one of the Aernath ones.

Ariadoll Gravity Head

Image
In case you were wondering what the Gravity head looked like. He's on a Luts body, not the Delf one but the other 60cm ish one, and the fit is good (he has kind of a small neck hole). He was too small to go on the Sugarble body, so the search goes on for that body.
