..are what I worked on today. I need to make product for Renderosity before they realize I have done exactly nothing for six months, not counting promo renders, and kick me out of the vendor pool. These strange abstracts are good for all kinds of things--for render overlays, light gels, making brushes and patterns, and most often for backdrops for poser people. I just have to read all the instructions again for submitting a product for sale. (There are lots of instructions). While I was digging around for things to scan and paint on, I found a photo, on paper, of my old Delf Moon Bryan, before he became an Iplehouse Denzel. Awww, he's still cute. Another DoA member has him now!

Hermione Again

Image
After some closet digging, I found the Soom Breccia torso to put Hermione's head on. The problem was that the only feet I had were the Migma "bat feets," since the spare Soom ankle balls I once had, are now being worn by a cross-dressing Volks Date Masamune in San Francisco (and he looks Mighty Fine in them and his heels). So I put the bat feet on, and they were ok, but the neck key made Hermione's neck too long (and you can see from the picture above that it's long even without the neck key. Since I had to take him apart again anyway, I took off the bat feet and found some extra white shins that I had bought on speculation ages ago, and some Impl male feet, which have the ankle balls built in. (Every doll company should do this--I hate separate wrist and ankle balls.) The feet are sort of platter-like, but stable. To solve the lack of the neck key and the resulting neck hole, I just took the key apart and turned it upside down: With real feet and a stable ...

More Delf/Fairyland dolls

Fairyland has finally released pictures of the new 60 cm bodies , and yes, there will be Lishe heads as well as Chloe (Chloe always looks a bit cross-eyed to me.) The bodies look good--they are scaled-up versions of my Minifee Shushu's body and seem very posable. It also looks like they may sell them a la carte, which would be nice too. I don't need any boy bodies--I found the old Delf artist-painted body for Vittorio in the above photo in Texas, and though the artist thought I would take off her painting (it's a little chipped here and there), I liked it far too much to mess with it. He could use more clothes than just leopard undies, though. The El sculpt, which was supposed to be Lishe's brother, is also in the mix for the new bodies. I had an El once, and although he was perfectly nice, I never felt he was special enough to justify keeping him-- he looks cooler in photos than he does in real life, or at least mine did. Someone else was very happy to buy him fro...

Small Bryan

Image
An old picture--he has since been replaced by my Denzel, but I occasionally miss how easy the 60 cm Delf Moon was to haul around. He was also in pretty rough shape so I never felt constrained to be super careful with him. I did sell him to someone who really, really wanted him, so that was nice. Poking around I found a fun doll tumblr: http://elsiiblog.tumblr.com/page/4 There is a photo of the original wings the Soom Beryl came with, and on page 3, under the photo of popped balloons, was some very, very funny text. I think I would like Elsii.

Many Moons

I like the older Luts.com dolls, the ones designed by Cerberus Productions. When I started buying dolls in 2007 they were the "hot dolls" at the time and I couldn't afford them. But as time has passed they are considered old and busted, and they are inexpensive now on the secondary market; especially the Moon sculpt, who was almost as popular as the Lishe and El in '07 and '08. The first one I got was a Redemption the Moon, just his chipped little head, no splendid costume or even a body. He's still one of my favorites. And a couple of months ago I bought a Fairyland Vamp Moon that had his teeth sanded off by someone, for the price of a decent dinner. All told, I have 5 of these guys, with various mismatching bodies. Here's Vittorio (He was Viktor at his last house, and as I had no name for him I kept it as close as possible while making him a brunette instead of a blonde.) I wonder why they took his teeth off? They are so tiny, like cat teeth. This is...
