Let Us Spray

Image
The weather was insanely great here today--low humidity, 80 degrees, and sunny--so off came Perdita's head and I painted her up. It went pretty well for me and an Iplehouse head (I always have trouble painting realistic heads). Then I tried to put microglitter on her eyelids. Don't do that. The Perfect Pearl shimmer powders are a lot more the right scale for shiny things on a small head. I sort of papered over my mistake with some Jaquard duotone purple/gold shimmer paint, put in some of the sculpey eyes (her "proper" eyes are drying still) and took her out for a photo or two. It was super windy by then and after a couple of photos the wind blew her wig off--but I am so happy with her. She is the first cheerful Bianca I have ever seen! I may still put in eyelashes but I have to order some special ones from Mint on Card for her. I also did some more eyes because I wanted to try the Modge Podge Dimensional Magic on the eyes I had made before, and you need low humidit...

Vampires and Ravens

Image
I have been busy the last couple of days, doing some texturing for another artist's larger project, so Perdita's head has landed on a Soom Cinderella body and she looks pretty good. I will have a lot of actual work in the next month or so (which is good) so Perdita needed feet that were pre-made, instead of waiting for me to finish the Sculpey body. The owner of the Mirodoll body that Perdita was on before wanted it back--there is nothing like having a disembodied head glaring at you when you are trying to work to motivate one to fix the situation. And the Bianca head looks quite nice on the Soom body--it's not a cheap solution (I was thinking of selling that body), but it works-- and I love the fussy little Resinsoul jointed hands on her. Even the transition from NS to white works with a vampire. Still no clothes yet, but I have all the material, and thanks to Akutenshi, all the lace. I need to get back to work--I made a mistake on this file I am working on, and ended u...

More Perdita, And Her Wig

Image
Here's the Bianca head, with a wig Akutenshi7 made out of mohair. Akutenshi and Francesca came over Saturday, which is why I didn't get around to doing a blog post--we had a lot of fun, which partly consisted of sitting around splitting up doll sized pirate treasure and lace between the three of us, like 1600's buccaneers. I'm hoping to get Perdita painted up on Tuesday when the weather is supposed to warm up to spraying range, and for the moment I have her on a Mirodoll body--right now on the Miro site this body is 81.00 on sale, and the resin is a pretty good match for the Iplehouse head. The neck fit is not great, sadly: (Yes, that is the bottle cap in there) The body size overall is fine with the smallish Bianca head: Right now she also has homemade eyes, as I have not had a chance to go see what Eyeco offers in her style. Aside from Perdita's head showing up in the mail, I also got a tiny telescope from St. Lunatic in Finland, and it actually folds up. ...
