New Iplehouse Fashions

Image
When Iplehouse employees should have been home relaxing for the Fall Festival, they were instead sitting at the family dinner table, sewing. Today there are new photos of some glorious dresses: this one is the Red Pearl  , modelled by Miss Bibiane (an E.I.D.) And look at SID Eva as the Snow Queen ! She looks almost more amazing than the dress--Iple should offer the wig as an accessory ;) I do think this means that you should assume the dress is SID size, as Iple clothes tend to run small. I think this is SID Grace (?) in the Red Butterfly : (The outfit set includes the necklace, but not the crown) Doria in the confusingly named " Black Leona ": (Doria is an EID) And Rexy in the Princess White dress (aw, so cute!) I love those NYID girls! And I tell myself I have an Eva, I don't need a Snow Queen version.  Though I am still not over Grace in her green lipstick as Elpheba. :p Even the jewelry on that set was awesome . Ooo, it's still for sale! ...

Iplehouse YIG Black Denim Dress Set, and Some Boots

Image
As usual, Iplehouse shipped out almost instantly, and the box arrived today. It was a split, so there were several boots and a shirt for Akutenshi's boys, and a wig, one of the denim dresses, and some heely sandals for my Bliss; who up until today had only a sort of toga to wear. Here's the items all wrapped up from the box: I went for the dress first--its so cute, and look! it goes on without having to go over the dolls head, and snaps in the front! Yay! The little petticoat is actually a skirt by itself. That went on with no problem, but the dress was..tight. Really tight. I did manage to squeeze it on, but I had to be sure the petticoat was not under the dress, and I had to work at it to get the snaps to close. The fit once it was snapped shut was pretty low-cut too--I wonder if it was fit on the default Bliss, who has a small bust? Mine is the standard Large. So I went and got the other Midwesterner in the house, my Soom Agate (Daisy). Daisy is okay with thi...

Iplehouse's Midwestern Aesthetic

Image
I always try to check Iplehouse and Soom every day, because they tend to pop up interesting things without telling me ahead of time ;) And I had to laugh when I saw this cute little denim dress--it sort of sums up the popular view of the US Midwest: "Corn and Demons" as a Tumblr post put it-- denim with a goth lining, on a girl with Swedish/Polish/German ancestry. Even the curtains are right ;) I'm very fond of denim--where I grew up in California jeans are what you wear; and later when I lived in the Pacific Northwest, jeans, a denim jacket and a Pendleton wool shirt are the clothes that fit the climate the best. (If you add a denim vest you have a "Canadian tuxedo", which I actually owned when I lived in Seattle, right down to the Frye boots). Lightweight cotton denim is wonderful to sew with, too.  So here are the two denim outfits Iple has together--I think the other SID girl is Aria, but I am not used to seeing her as a blonde, so I am not sure: This...

The Scandal Set

Image
I did a trade with vermont chick and I once again got the best part of a trade--she sent me several Iplehouse sets, all of which looked like they were never worn--which is faintly possible as vermont chick sews as well as Iplehouse does, though she has a more sleek modern style in the silhouettes she chooses to make for herself (I have never worked up the courage to ask her if she would sell any of the dresses she makes). Anyway, Ivy (Iplehouse Eva) needed something besides a batik bikini to wear, so I thought I would try out the Scandal set on her. I managed to get everything on without having to look at the sales photos, too ;) The only snag was that the ribbon around the sleeve is not stretchy--there is elastic in the sleeves themselves that is wide enough to pass her hands through, but the ribbon isn't big enough: But we managed: Look at the cool construction of that tiny bodice! All put together: Bow in back: Random feet (I think Ivy's are s...

Iplehouse Does Disney

Image
Or I should say "outfits HEAVILY INFLUENCED by Disney movies". I have always thought Zera was charming and she makes a wonderful Pocahontas. Here's Bliss as the "R rated Snow White" which could be fixed with an underskirt--I actually love Bliss with dark hair and red lips and the outfit is neat if you add a few pieces; otherwise you might lose a dwarf or two to cardiac arrest. Then there is Harace as Cinderella, looking a bit put out for some reason: Asa is splendid as Mulan ( I am going to make you go look for yourself ) and by a stroke of genius they put her on Raffine's engraved body for the shoot, and somehow that looks right: I have never really warmed up to Yur, but seeing her in tan skin makes her looks much more friendly and charming, and the Jasmine outfit is beautiful: Then there is Iplehouse's original male and female hanbok sets, with some adorable photos : (That is Aria and Bichun, by the way). You can see the height difference betw...

Clothes From Iplehouse

Image
This was sort of a 3 way split, but I took photos of it all in case someone wanted to see non-company photos. The two larger pieces are an NYID dress and a SID "Hippy" dress, the rest are JID sized. Everything was very well made as usual. I was particularily charmed by the hippy outfit--it's quite creative and artsy and I am going to have to look at the sales pages to see how it goes on. The rest are pretty normal: We did have our first snow: I admit to feeding the squirrel who lives in the hollow tree outside our bedroom window: But it's the time of year when it really is better to be a domestic animal:

Some More Iplehouse Clothes

Image
This is labelled as a SID dress, but it fits Audrey perfectly (it even came with some cocoa colored tights, which would be cute if you had a cocoa scarf or belt to sort of pull it all together. The color is a bit bright for Audrey, though, and it may go to Roswell, who looks amazing in hot pink. I will add a photo of her later if the top fits. I also got a pair of NYID boy jeans hoping one of my guys could wear it, and a plain top. It turns out that the legs are too tight for my Granado boys, and are even tight on Rebecca, but I love all the pockets even if Bex is not fond of the air gap around the waist: The top she is wearing is a set with bottoms that look suspiciously small (I haven't tried them yet, but if Bex can sit in them I would be amazed.) But the pants are good with a belt for sitting, so I think I will see if I can get a pattern off of them but redo the waist. I also bought a NYID boy white shirt with buttons that looks great too, so I will take more photos tomorro...

Iplehouse Ophelia Dress

Image
A while back, a local doll person did an Iplehouse group order, and I ordered an Ophelia dress , hoping it would fit Cecilia, my Granado, or maybe one of the Soom Supergem girls. (Most of Iplehouse's SID clothing fits the SG girls pretty well.) The Ophelia is designed for an EID girl, but works on a SID girl--I tried the set on Marilyn, my Jessica. It was odd seeing her in a romantic style dress, it's not at all what she usually wears, but she was the right size to test it. Since she is a SID, the sleeves were a little long on the shirt, and as Iplehouse says, you need to tug and adjust it after you put the bodice on over it. The top probably fits even the largest EID girl perfectly. The skirt is also a nice layered thing, with an elastic waistband that fit fine on Marilyn. Again, it's a little long, but the skirt style would look fine pinned up a bit, or with a colorful petticoat under it. The cotton is pretty, but very sheer, so I would put something under that lowest ...
