Souldoll Agnes on Resinsoul Hooves

Image
Souldoll Agnes' head is absurdly small, especially when you consider she is supposed to go on the very tall, if slim, Souldoll Zenith body. So I ordered a Resinsoul Ai hooved body for her and it arrived a month ago (Covid has made even Resinsoul behind schedule, so be patient while they catch up--you can also get things faster if you order directly from their website; but also have a good antivirus, as their site is unsecured.) I ordered through Denver Doll because I was lazy :D I had put a different, not entirely successful faceup on her before--I like this grumpy one much better. She still needs a custom wig as this one hides her pointy little ears. The resin of the head and the body is a pretty good match--Agnes is about a year older but the RS resin will catch up with her in time. The body is good--she will stand without the stand, though I did have to restring the body--RS puts all the strings up through the neck, shrugs, and wraps it all up in bubble wrap and lets you deal w...

Pinkie Pie and Swinte

Image
So I bought Pinkie (who is really a XinLan at Loongsoul) from Arekushia--I think Arekushia might have ordered her directly from Loongsoul, and then not been fond of her in person, but Arekushia sold XinLan to me at an excellent price, and I thought I would put my Fairyland Seian head on the body, since I like LS bodies a lot. And the LS bodies do not have magnet feets. By the way, this is the SMALL BUST. Under no circumstances do you need the Large Bust, unless you have two toddler hats that you need to store somewhere. Look at the superb packing Arekushia did. You should buy from her :D She is anime-addict on Ebay. So I hooked together the body, and got my Seian head on the body... and the head did not match. Seian is a bit older and yellower and it was a Nope. So I unwrapped that little bundle in the upper right hand corner of the photo above and awww, what a cute little head! So I put it on the body, swapped out the pink rabbit eyes for slightly darker purplish ones, ...

Granado Jupiter Head on a Iplehouse NYID Body

Image
I had this cute Jupiter head, but I am not really a fan of the Embody or Evol body's joints. Then I had this extremely thrifty body from the DoA marketplace (I had wanted one anyway so that I would have all three sized of Iplehouse bodies for comparisons and hybrid questions). So just out of curiosity I put the Jupiter head on the NYID body-- and it fits well! The color is off, but that is something that can be fixed with blushing. The Jupiter head was a problem for other hybrids since the neck is so large--it gaps A LOT when you put it on either the old Granado bodies (which I love) or any other "normal" bjd male body. The Jupiter head won't work on the SID body, it's just too small. But on the NYID body it's pretty good! (He does need his hair, I just can't find the right box that contains his fur wig.) More pix: I will probably get him some jointed hands when I have a chance to look around for them. Body blushing would definitely help the loo...

The Star Man Neck

Image
The Impldoll New Star Man (not the Idol) is pretty nice for hybrids--the neck is a 12cm around, but because of how it curves at the top you can get smaller heads to sit on it nicely. Thranduil has good movement on that body, and stays where you put him without looking like he's a pinhead on there. This Impl resin in Normal Pink-- and is roughly the color of Iplehouse Normal.

Laurel Gets A Head

Image
Headless Laurel has been a sewing form for a while, but I always wanted to get some sort of head on her--originally I thought she'd need a male head, since she is quite large, but as I was digging through the Den of Angels Marketplace, I saw a Fairyland Chloe 65 for sale! Shadowed Force wanted a body for something, and had put the head on the Marketplace. Disclaimer: the faceup she is wearing is my own--Shadowed Force is on hiatus because of school, otherwise I would have asked about a professional faceup. Also the eyes are homemade. Anyway, as Laurel is an Impldoll Idol body, I knew there would be some challenges getting a Fairyland head on, since Fairyland uses a locking key in the neck to keep the heads on. What I hadn't realized, is that the newest Fairyland heads also have a prong on the faceplate to discourage using a jury-rigged S hook. The answer was (sort of hilariously) a Soom "banana". (I need to make a custom one out of sculpey, reinforced with 14 gauge...

Super Gem Head on an Impldoll Female Idol Body

Image
It does fit, but just barely..she can't move her head at all. If I was going to do this for myself I would first get the NP skin (This body is Realskin), and then sand the neck down a bit--I think it's really intended for Iplehouse heads ;) Also I would restring the body--Idols are strung super tight and I think that is hard on a valuable head, not to mention the joints of the body itself. Otherwise the proportions are quite good--Galena, Cuprit and Onyx and Dia are all larger heads of the old Super Gems and should look fine on this body. The female Idol isn't as good a poser as the Male Idol, but I like how tall it is. This particular body has homemade ankle balls, and so far no head. It's kind of handy, but I do keep her put away as I think J is not fond of having the headless bodies out. Headless Laurel has no opinion. :D

Hybriding a Dollshe Grant Phillipe

Image
First of all, you are gonna need a bigger head. Maybe an Iplehouse Elder guy, because the neck is large and not sandable with the silicon disks in there. If you want to take off his head and put it on something lighter (and I can totally understand that, because I think this man is seven pounds of wonderful), you will want a spacer for the neck and also a large body--and EID, a Granado Evol, maybe, or an Impldoll Idol. Here he is on a Impldoll New Star Man body, one size down from the Idol. Good color, not super fit: His neck hole isn't round, so you may need to fill it slightly with paperclay or something removable like that. Otherwise he isn't a bad head for moving around--this is Pure and it seems to be a pale pinky color that works with a lot of companies right now.

Fairyland Siean Head, FL60 body, and a Soom New SG Body

Image
Vermont Chick wanted to get a new, less heavy body under her Fairyland 65 Siean head, and it made sense for her to look at the smaller Fairyland 60 body since both the head and the body work with the "neck keys". I put my Siean head on an old 2010 Luts Delf Body since the design is the same as the FL60 (they shared designers for a while). I think the head looks a bit large, and the Luts neck key wouldn't ...quite..fit in the Fairyland Siean head: (Yes, Siean is a faceplate doll which is why there is this slightly alarming photo.) BUT I wanted to try Siean on the new Female Super Gem body-- because after putting a Soom Saiph on a Fairyland 65 body and seeing the Normal resin matches pretty well, I though the reverse would work; i.e. a Fairyland head and a Soom body. And yes! It works wonderfully. Soom's crazy resin banana holder actually nests inside the place where the neck key would go, and you can still shut the faceplate: (Just take note that my Siean is WS, n...
