Lee Pace Gets Some New Clothes

Image
Azurielle on Den of Angels made the outfit--the pants look plain, but they are so easy to get on and fit perfectly. This set is for SID boys, which means they *coincidentally* fit the Impldoll Star bodies: It's a good thing mosquitoes don't bite dolls. There were a lot of them.

The Star Man Neck

Image
The Impldoll New Star Man (not the Idol) is pretty nice for hybrids--the neck is a 12cm around, but because of how it curves at the top you can get smaller heads to sit on it nicely. Thranduil has good movement on that body, and stays where you put him without looking like he's a pinhead on there. This Impl resin in Normal Pink-- and is roughly the color of Iplehouse Normal.

Crazy Fabric Lady

Image
Sent to me by Mom, who is neat and organized and not a hoarder in any way (she does have a yarn collection, but it is in constant use.) I do make stuff with my fabric, but I like having "some extra" just in case. Like 10 tupperware containers of it. Here's a tunic currently under construction: Thranduil looks resigned to being a fit model.

A Goodwill Tiny Sword, a Spider, and a Vice

Image
I had to drop off the porcelain doll from the doll show at the Goodwill, so of course we had to go in (J was not enthusiastic, so I didn't stay long). I did find this sword--it's probably some Noble Collection replica thing, it's too big for a letter opener, and the blade was a bit nicked and pitted, but it is a perfect size for a big SD doll. Also there was a bag of thread, a silk dress, some wired ribbon, and a tiny aspic mold: All this fun for under 20 dollars! J also did some household things today--he took down the wire we have on the roof to melt snow and prevent ice dams (unlikely in June, even in Chicago), and took down the inside plexiglass on the kitchen skylight; the skylight that is over the table. About two weeks ago I looked up, and saw a spider on the inside of the glass, above it, but below the outside roof bubble, and I felt bad for it being trapped in there. Then I looked up a few minutes later and the spider was between the sandwiched layers of pl...

Gentleman Thranduil

Image
Chalyss wanted to see if Kip's head would fit on the Star body, since she wanted to do the Impldoll Facebook event and put a Plaice head on a Star body instead of his own Idol body. I did the swap, but Thranduil stole Kip's nice wig,(made by Chalyss) and is going to keep it. Here is Plaice on a Star body: He actually looks (and moves) great on it--I was surprised. I prefer the posing of the Idol but the Star is a much more convenient size. Mostly today I weeded, mowed and did art, but I did have a photo from yesterday's rain where the cat was indignant to be rained on:

Thranduil, Snow White and a Geode

Image
Just a random photo of Thranduil and Ashley, with Ashley pointing out that there are a lot of  people in the room staring at them. I think Thranduil looks stylish, if not elf-appropriate, in his Iplehouse set (that is the King set, I think, and the shirt especially is glorious). As I was taking out the recycling I kicked a small golf ball-sized rock, and I thought at first it was a chunk of concrete--but it was so round and had an interesting surface, so I wondered if it was a geode: So I found a rag and a hammer, and thumped it on a larger rock in my yard, and this was the inside-- not quite a geode, but full of tiny quartz crystals! Other family member's  feet are in the photo; alas the party breaks up tomorrow-- and it will be very quiet in the house during the day without them. I will miss them!
