 The Naperville Doll Show was on! We all wore masks, but we could sit, vaccinated, in the lobby and drink Starbucks and pretend it was all normal. And I bought some things--most of the lace and fabric on the left is for Cat; the dress was probably from some unfortunate Chinese porcelain doll, and the tiny clothes on the right ..might..fit my Nanuri Fairyland girl on her small Moe body. Since they were a dollar apiece, I thought it was worth a try. There was a plastic futuristic rifle for Rain to shoot mutant giant bugs with, a tarot card box, and some silk flowers. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. (I also bought a wig from Akutenshi, not shown here, but I will take photos for a later post.) The dark blob on the right is actually a hat--there is a vendor at the show that always has a display of perfect little doll hats, and I try to buy one just to support her. I have made human hats for a small Renaissance Faire and it's a lot of work--and crushing if no one buys them! And they are really well ...

So I bought Pinkie (who is really a XinLan at Loongsoul) from Arekushia--I think Arekushia might have ordered her directly from Loongsoul, and then not been fond of her in person, but Arekushia sold XinLan to me at an excellent price, and I thought I would put my Fairyland Seian head on the body, since I like LS bodies a lot. And the LS bodies do not have magnet feets. By the way, this is the SMALL BUST. Under no circumstances do you need the Large Bust, unless you have two toddler hats that you need to store somewhere. Look at the superb packing Arekushia did. You should buy from her :D She is anime-addict on Ebay. So I hooked together the body, and got my Seian head on the body... and the head did not match. Seian is a bit older and yellower and it was a Nope. So I unwrapped that little bundle in the upper right hand corner of the photo above and awww, what a cute little head! So I put it on the body, swapped out the pink rabbit eyes for slightly darker purplish ones, ...

I had this Delf body that was structurally sound, but had all kinds of scratches, chips, and a really well done but IMO unfortunate breast removal...I have had it explained to me that you can't buy genderless bodies, and people like the posing of the Delf bodies. But I think it throws off the proportions of the Delf body to remove the breasts-- and you can always buy a cheap boy body and mod it.. well, anyway, this body needed a lot of work. and I thought if I made it a robot/cyborg thing the dent and scratch part of it would be OK. If you are going to use iDyePoly, you will need: --Paper towels already torn off and put where you can reach them fast, in a pile. Lots of them --mask off your drainboard and ceramic sink --Safety goggles or glasses--you will be working with a giant pot of splashy dye. Boiling dye. Zelda sent me these! She was clearing out some bookshelves and send these wonderful books to me; I was so happy to receive them! There is one more about using wool roving to make doll hair, and that one is with the wool roving. I'm hoping to make her some shoes as a thank you, but I need to get the pattern right--I thought I had one done for Loongsoul girls yesterday but I somehow messed up the toe section. I wanted to put the pattern up yesterday, but my goof meant no post, as I did nothing else yesterday unless you count laundry and dishes :p Today I got a head in the mail! Arekushia and I did a trade, she got a NS Soom body for her Topaz and I got a Souldoll Swinte head! AND the LMOD Beryl clothing set I have looked for these last few years! I was too slow in ordering Swinte before so now I am so pleased to have her cute little head in hand. And yes, it is a little head, another 7/8 more-or-less head.
