A Meet-Up Tomorrow

Image
I am bringing 5 dolls and it took me ALL DAY to locate shoes, wigs and jewelry that was presentable for these guys. I need to start drawing names out of a hat and each week make one complete outfit for each doll, so that if they have a chance for an outing, they have something to wear..both tops AND pants. I never did find Rusty the Vampire's cravat, though it has been floating around on table tops for weeks. Up there is Isley, named after Poison Ivy. She always has good shoes, though I just today realized that they don't zip all the way up her calves 0.o After this photo I found shoes and a witch's hat for Cherry, though she still looks a little chilly to me. Rusty, saying "Who needs a cravat anyway? Blaa." This girl needs her own clothes--she got the cast-off tights I made for Naomi and decided they weren't good enough, a skirt that belongs to Tanglewyn, and a corset owned by Cecelia, who is a Granado Nuevo and has a similar wide shoulder. Cor...

Doll Stands

Image
I actually don't have that many stands--mostly my dolls sit in chairs or on the shelf, but I do have 4 big stands that I like, and that I use when I am doing sewing projects. The one above is a National Artcraft one I got from Ebay--it was a little dinged up so I covered it with terrycloth from an old towel. Not very decorative; but fine for storage and sewing. If you put it around a big doll's thigh, you can hide it under skirts, too. (Isley the Granado Venus/ Free Choice Vesuvia is a challenge with the tail--and she is heavy). Here is Cherry on a saddle-style stand: This one was made by Chattybratty on ebay and was one of 4 or 5 that she made--I have this one and a larger one and they are my favorites--super sturdy and nice-looking. (I think she is on hiatus right now, normally she does mohair wigs I like too.) (The metal eye on the back of the stand was meant for a lanyard--I have never used it--usually I just wrap a scrap of fabric around it.). Here is another ...

Garnet, Now With a Body

Image
Miss Garnet (Cherry) has been a head here for months, while Sharnofshade and I waited for Soom to ship the Free Choice version (I did a split with Sharn) Unlike Soom, Sharn was super fast and sent the body out airmail, so Garnet's body arrived, in perfect condition, at my house this morning. (Ken the mailman said "Enjoy your new doll!"--he knows what comes in those big boxes now ;)). So now my slinky cyborg is all together and just needs her lines painted in with copper metallic paint and something a little more fancy than a sock dress.

Soom Body and Parts Sale, and some cautions

Image
Here is the page the has the links to the different sales pages--I found it was easier to start on this page than to jump from the Notice. And here are the dates: We will open a new Bodies & Parts Sale from Sept. 3rd (Wed.) ~ Sept. 21st (Sun.) 2014. AND they are selling THE CYBORG BODY . No head, but you can get her in normal, cream white, tawny, bronze, or gray. A couple of things to remember--she is expensive because of the body cuts, and the default ball-jointed hands. Also she is the smaller new body, so don't try to cram a Onyx, Galena or Dia head on her as they are all pretty large. The new body heads (everything after Gneiss) heads, including the new Saiph, fit fine. And a note about hands--if you are buying hands, DO NOT BUY any of the new pose hands unless you already own a set of the magnet hands with the ball and pin assembly, because Soom is not providing the bases--this is strictly an upgrade to a doll you already have, on the New Body. You can use the old han...
