We went to Downers Grove Wednesday for sushi, and discovered that Downers Grove had ice sculptures all over town. It's been cold enough to keep them in good shape, too. This one is an ice skating owl, in honor of the Olympics. Not sure why an owl--maybe I missed this year's mascot. Anyway, there was plenty of non-human ice sculpture going on--most of the buildings have icicles, and some are huge! I wish this one had come out sharper, it's a film noir fire escape covered with a waterfall of ice. Pretty cool. :D And some icicles on my house and Rob's house If I shoot through a screen I can fool the camera into not damping out the sparkles.

I saw an otter I saw an otter! A real one in Geneva, on the Fox river, below the houses on the opposite bank. A lame photo but a fun moment. More Geneva photos: And finally, lunch: Kuma's in Naperville..twice now Kuma herself has come out to see if the food was good for us!
