The Leftovers

Image
Looking very surly at being forgotten in their bags from the big inventory photoshoot, Amber (Luts Nanuri 07) and Violetta (Luts Juri 07B) pout on the table top. It took so long to get everyone together that the sun went down, which is why the photos from yesterday are a bit blurry. It's almost artistic here, where Carissa (a modified Soom Cuprit SO) sits next to Ereshkigal (Granado Gabe head on a Soom Free Choice Topaz body), who seems to be "resting her eyes". I wish these guys had come out better--an Iplehouse Denzel and an IOS "G"; I think I will re-shoot them later when I get a day with some sun. Finally a quick look at Iplehouse Rexy, who probably should be stored in tissue, but I like seeing her with the other dolls so she is still out for the moment.

Iplehouse Rosinetta Set for NYID girls

Image
Here is Corazon (Iplehouse Rexy) doing a small interpretive dance as she models the Rosinetta set, which is a large, magnificent and perfectly fitting skirt, with a matching, slightly too small adorable top. Cora's "L Bust" just..barely..fits in there--a medium bust would be perfect, I think. . As for the lacing in the back, the fabric of the corset is a little stretchy and with some effort I can probably squeeze her into it, but I think instead I will donate the top to my slimmer Souldoll girl and make Cora a less tight top. Corsets will not change the shape of a doll, no matter how hard you pull, so there is no sense in having them be tight at all--they just need to fit and lace or button easily. The wig Cora has on is also from Iplehouse and I love it--it is made by an outside supplier but it is very soft and fits her perfectly--it feels a bit like a rougher mohair and looks very natural and flattering for her. I hope everyone had a very good Thanksgiving, by the ...

That Stretchy Iplehouse T-Shirt for SID girls...

Fits OK on the NYID girls, though you might want to take the hands off first.

Eyes for Halloween

Image
Corazon's Hand Glass eyes came on Halloween from Safrin Doll, which I thought was the perfect day to get a little bag of eyes. They are close to the color of the acrylics that she shipped with, but fit much better. They are 14mm, which is big for an Iplehouse doll! Here's a better picture of the color: Sort of a denim color, I guess--they are exactly what I was looking for! Safrin is almost instant gratification, too. I forgot to put up my Halloween costume--I was an old bat. :D And, thank the gods, I finished the last veil for the Hat..I love the Hat, but the veils are a pain in the ass for a lot of reasons, part of which they take more memory from the computer than I think they are worth. (Transparency is a complicated calculation). Now it's just making sure all the file names and paths are right, that everything loads, and that I have seven promo pages and about ten thumbnails of various size, and then I can submit it.

Rexy Arrives!

Image
She came yesterday and I took some time away from virtual hats to open her box and take a look at her. She is only the second Iplehouse doll that I have ordered with a faceup-- and I am so glad I did! I even got the little heart; I thought that was a custom makeup item! The boxes for the NYID girls are new too: First look at a startled doll in the box :D : Here is where I lifted her out and saw the heart: The best part is that she is a reshell of an old Delf Miyu that I had called Corazon (Corazon was a former Arcadia Circus girl that had gotten very yellowed, I think she lives in New Jersey now after a serious de-yellowing session in Oxy Clean). If you have old Haute Doll magazines you can see the Miyu modelling some of the Arcadia Circus clothing. Bjd owners just pass these dolls around all over the world. Anyway, THIS version of Corazon is delightful--I have Cora's old wig on the Rexy, and I think I want to swap it for a softer mohair, but the color is perfect: The Ipleho...

Catching Up

Image
This is one of Gypsyangel's upcoming Terrible Twins, either Malice or Mayhem...I can't tell them apart;) . I have been on the computer for hours without getting around to actually posting on the blog, though stuff is going on--last weekend Jon went outside and came in and said the lamppost in the back yard had fallen over...but not the huge copper-lamped monstrosity by the pergola, but a semi-useful one in the back by the shed. Dry rot had apparently chewed through the base, despite the original owner's hopeful placement of plastic around the base. The worst part is that it landed on my wind chimes. :o The wind chimes in happer times: I did save the unbroken suns and I will restring them with another half set I have in a box. Chicago is hard on wind chimes--I've learned to keep them away from windows so that the wind doesn't yank them off the holder and toss them through the window. I did have these briefly on the enclosed porch but then I would hit my head on ...

I think someone at Iplehouse is making these wigs. Rexy here never looked so cute- this wig is adorable on her, it makes her look like a 60's sex kitten. Iplehouse also has a wig (shown in dark brown) with a pearl strand woven in it that would look great on my Cuprit, and a side curled thing in blonde that looks like it was made for Iplehouse's Bibiane. I wish I had more points saved up to pay for the shipping!
