Miniatures!

https://tuntematonkorppi.tumblr.com/post/613563991635181568/kaijuno-sosuperawesome-miniatures-by Meanwhile, I have made purse number 5. They are slowly getting better. It's just a prop right now, I don't know yet how to morph the chain so that it moves. In theory there is a way to make it open as well, but I will have to read to see how it works (so it doesn't leave the clasp in midair ;) )

Dollhouse Wallpaper and More

Image
It's over at Dollhouse and More, and most of the carpet and wallpaper they sell is for 1/6 scale, but usable for larger dolls if you want a small throw rug or a small repeat paper pattern. It's just a fun browse, too: https://dollhousesandmore.com/product-category/wallpaper/bradbury-n-bradbury/

Critter Cam Update, Naperville Doll Show

Image
This is much further away from the house, and the animals seem a lot more relaxed; so I will probably keep the camera out there. J made a stand for the camera so it can be moved around more easily than the fiberglass urn that it was on before, too. Here are a couple of photos from Saturday night: A mouse: A pretty good skunk photo! I'm hoping to get the fox again--I can see the prints in the snow where they like to travel, so I will put the camera near the prints and cross my fingers. ___________________________________________________________________________ The doll show was, as usual, a lot of fun. It was also super crowded this year, so it was a little harder to paw through tupperware than in previous years--I still found a lot of inexpensive clothes and three pair of minifee shoes, which was great (especially at 3.00 a pair). I saw a vendor (verisariod at gmail) who makes comissioned miniatures of all kinds of things. The business card is a bit blu...

An Intriguing Article on "Book Nooks"

Miniature Google Street View Explores Miniatur Wunderland

Image
There is a huge diorama in the city of Hamburg, and Google built a cute toy version of their "street view vehicle" to explore it: (the actual photos were taken by a less cute rolling mini camera). If you want to check out the photos, go here: https://www.google.com/streetview/#miniatur-wunderland There is even a rock concert, and airport (sort of working airport!) and the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas. Told you it was big. :D

Martha Boer's Tiny Artist

Image
There is a whole series of photos with her Narae dressed and working as an artist. The detail in the props is delightful! Go see it here: http://www.antiquelilac.com/the-art-studio---fav-photos-2018.html And thanks to Cat for spotting this!

Yvraine Emissary of Ynnead

Image
See this terrifying lady? She is really only one and a half inches tall, and the best thing about her (besides the rocking outfit) is her cat! I really wanted the cat, and went to the Warhammer store, bought the only set I could find that had the cat, and opened it up... to discover it was way, way too small for me to paint. The cat could sit on my thumbnail. But I have a friend of K's who loves to paint these Warhammer guys, so I gave him the set. And then last week a little box came in the mail, and it was Yvraine and her cat--from a different set (!)--all painted up and even with tiny perfect grass and flowers . It's just so amazingly awesome! It's is so small it's actually a little hard to get my camera to focus on it properly:  And the cat!! The eyes on the cat are the size of the head of a pin!! I kind of want to make a doll of her--I have the perfect person to do it with, my Swinte, who already kind of has that fierce expression.  It was SO NICE of J...

The Lich King Again

Image
Those little Warhammer guys are really fun, They are also tiny--Barry here is like an inch high--K did a good job painting him up. I broke down and bought some official paint for them too, since I have a microscopic fantasy cat to paint.

Worst Bun Ever, Door Pie and Wall Swans

Image
K and I went to a local pancake place that turned out to be a stealth Greek diner. So we both got "Greek" entrees and those were pretty good (a good gyro, and a chicken breast with feta cheese and leafy greens). The sides were pretty dire, including these buns that looked like  refugees from an airline supply place; not only were they nasty when they emerged from the factory, they had become stale over the period of weeks or months they were entombed in plastic. I have to say the baked goods in the case looked good (and local) and they had some stellar looking gelato off to the side. I might go back since it's so close, they are open late and they serve breakfast all day; a meal that is hard to ruin. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, though. I didn't try the coffee. From there we went to Target, and they are full of Christmas toys--all the My Generation props work with SD dolls, and there were so many cute food items I was overwhelmed and bought none o...
