I have a Baby Iplehouse Doll and it's hard to find clothes for her--even Iplehouse has almost nothing right now. Apparently she is sort of Little Fee size but from reading the comments from people who tried the clothing on the BIDs, the BID shoulders and chests are chonkier and hard to fit in the clothes. Then I remembered that Martha Boers (AntiqueLilac) had some really cute outfits that she had made for her Iplehouse crew so I went to look again--and there were several downloadable free patterns for them! There are nice clear directions as well. And it's not only the BIDs that have patterns-- lots of people have patterns! These are not all of them. :D The tutorials and the "Sewing Journeys" are really fun to look at as well. She is a wonderful designer (she calls herself a "doll costumer") and a very generous person to share her patterns! And now and then there are clothes for sale on the site as well. It's a fun visit!

I am working on a wig from some of the alpaca--I managed to weft a good bit of it, but I put the locks too close together and now it is ..heavy. I am hoping to counterweight it with some beads in the front once it's filled out. The wig cap is nylon net and it is a bit slippery too, though it's easy to get the needle in and out. You can still pull off fibers from the ends, so the next one I make I may try braiding the locks or some other way to keep the fibers in the wig. The top of the wig here is felted and it does indeed love to felt. It makes a good base for the fibers on top. I also have a small Fantasia body corset going: The labels help me remember which side is the "fashion side" and which piece is which AND which way is up. The gray is the lining and the test-fit I did of the piece in the center of the photo (1/2 of the corset lining) looks like it should fit OK. Since I am waiting for my finger to fix itself (the cut is exactly where I put the back end of the needle for hand sewing) I thought I would cut out a rectangular construction shirt for my Doll In Mind Elf head, which is sitting on a Dollzone 72 cm body. I was basing it on what I remember of Folkwear's Missouri River Boatman's shirt, without the neck gussets. I discovered right away that I need to make the front of the shirt open all the way down, because the human version of this shirt doesn't need room to go around Giant Elf Ears and a Buff faceup that I love. "You're going to pull that over my head??" Be sure to try this with junk fabric first. You can cut the front and back longer, too--since this is a boy doll the front and back pieces can be the same length, but a busty girl doll would need a longer front piece and you would need to play with the sleeve placement as well (maybe moving them down to the edge of the yoke in front.)
