Current Mood

Digital texturing is hard sometimes. I am working on a skin for La Femme and the painting part is easy but getting it to look good in different light is...difficult.

Tiny Spring Flowers

Image
This is Willow, insisting it is Spring in spite of recent snow and current storms. I don't know what the tiny weed flowers are behind her--it looks like some kind of spurge, and I never have the heart to weed it up because it looks so perfect with the dolls :D. We have violets--and bumblebees! Winter was mild enough the bumblebees made it through ok, the first one I saw was one of the big second year ones, and not a small juvenile. We do try to make the yard attractive to them.

Picro and Sammi are back at Soom

Image
These cuties are "elemanders", elvish..salamanders. :D I think they look like axolotls and they are freaking cute--and they go "live" later today or tomorrow. The price shown is for the human version, but if you are going to get one, get the fantasy one because you want those little horns. Soom does layaway now, too. I love the open-eye version but the romantic eye version is pretty cute. They come in "powder blue" and cream white And that outfit is pure inspiration! It's sold separately, I notice the outfits are really limited these days. AND THOSE TAILS: Hehe! More photos here: https://gem.dollsoom.com/en/shop/picro-sammi-bubbly-traveler/

What is New Here

Image
BEBE FOXES!!! I keep forgetting what day it is, so I forget to blog. I have learned how to do all kinds of things in Poser 11, uploaded the Free Purse: made some morphs in Daz Studio for Genesis8 , ate some Easter Candy (this was our sole Easter Basket) Shopped online and scored the Kind of Food the Cat likes and will not throw up (important) and the Kind of Shampoo Jon likes (plain) and the Kind of Laundry Soap that smells OK, for me. We now have a milkman named Scott. And did I mention Baby Foxes? Being "in" has it's rewards! (There are FOUR of them plus Mama).

Modelling a Purse

Image
Yes, I am still wrestling with this purse--but now pieces don't fall off when you try to move it in a scene, and it doesn't load twice the size of the woman who is supposed to be carrying it--so progress is being made. It still doesn't open, that turns out to be quite complicated, but I am still learning :D

Ringdoll's Judge of Hell (once more)

Image
Ringdoll decided that the only doll for the Apocalypse was this guy, and I have to say they are not wrong--he is just magnificently over- the- top. Confusingly he seems to be both "Leo" and "Yama", though to me the human and beast forms look a lot alike; maybe Yama has fancy ears? It looks like the whole outfit is limited to 20 sets, but you can see for yourself here: https://www.ringdoll.com/leo-yama-p0898.html They also have a pop-up promo that has yet another name (maybe the working name?), though it sure looks like Leo: (Those resin flames are just magnif!) I think the promo is get the fullset, get extra option hands, but I am not entirely sure. There is always a certain mystery to ordering dolls :D I'm sure they have a Q and A on the site if you want to get the details explained. Leo is one of Ringdoll's larger boys, 68cm. They are quite slim compared to say, an Iplehouse Senior Doll, even the newer Iplehouse body. I think this is the c

Soom Elf Saiph

Image
Here she is, the beautiful Elf Saif! The original was a Mecha Angel at a staggering 80cm, more or less (I would have to look it up, but they were huge) and she was gorgeous but worried. This is her 3rd incarnation and they have redone the sculpt to keep the cute features, but smooth away the worried forehead. She is also a lot smaller at a pleasing 59cm, which is the new standard size (the 2012 body was about 64 cm, I think). She is I think the same size as Ashley, who was part of the redone girl line--Ashley is a Snow White first edition. I think all the shoes still fit all the post 2012 girls. Anyway, she is so pretty. More photos, somewhat cropped, so you should go look on the actual site here: https://gem.dollsoom.com/en/shop/elf-saiph-the-golden-forest/ (I even love her new subtitle) This is supposedly Baby Pink but it really looks more like a pinky WS--quite nice. And check out the outfit, which is a limited edition of 20: You can now do layaway again at Soom, I

Iplehouse's April Special

Image
It looks like Iplehouse is making all their previous FID releases available for April, and if you have the spare cash (I just spent mine on a plumber) I really recommend these lovely cuties--they are as perfectly cast as the big ones, pose well and are just a fun size all around. Shoes are a bit hard to find so you should get some at the same time as you order the dolls. They take tiny wigs--I bought 3 for my Miho and one fits--and they were all "Size 6", so you might consider getting an Iplehouse wig as well. I had mine painted by Iplehouse and while it was a perfectly good faceup and well done, I mildly regret not trying to do it myself (she has sort of frowny brows). It does look like the promo image--the difference is very subtle. There is also a new Soom girl* that is just the coolest thing ever, but she is twice the price of these guys, and yes, I bought a functioning washing machine instead--which really is something I needed! The plumber was good--he wore a mask
