New Iplehouse Dolls--FID Dane, Snakes With Bow Ties

Image
Iplehouse is usually such Serious Business about dolls, and then suddenly BOOM there are snakes with bow ties--actually this is BID Becky . She's small enough that if you put her on layaway she is somewhat affordable, but you should definitely get her as a fullset. Because you don't want to be painting those snakes yourself :D And there is a cutie Normal Skin one (you have several color options, just look at the sales page.) Here she is in WS, I think: I kind of just want a snake as a standalone prop :D With a bow tie. Then there is a more usual Tiny Hunk of Viking Hotness, aka FID Dane : His outfit is really beautiful, especially when you consider he isn't that much larger than a Ken doll.

Baby Iplehouse Lina

Image
ZOMG the cute :D Tiny horns, tiny hooves, and a cute little face. If you collect tinies (or you just need a dose of cute) check out Lina's Sales Page . This adorable thing was found by akutenshi, so you have her to thank if Lina falls into your cart. :D

The Princess And The Frog at Iplehouse

Image
She's an NYID Princess, my favorite size !  And she is very pretty--though I actually like the blank sculpt even more than the painted version (I would do the lips differently, though Iplehouse's default is perfectly nice). She also has a gorgeous dress that I suspect was made by SartoriaJ: Isn't that great? Here is her pretty, pretty blank face: Miss Lucia looks like a slightly more serious Wendy--and she also has different expressions at different angles! I also think she would be really cute in Peach or Realskin, to bring out the lines of the sculpt. And if you think Lucia is cute, CHECK OUT THE FROG : Is that not the cutest little frog-boy you have ever seen? Akutenshi spotted him first ;) and sent me a link. I normally don't care for Iplehouse's Creaa line because they are ..well unearthly; but for a fairytale Frog Prince he's perfect. Also I suspect Iplehouse was so thrilled to make those little frog feet and hands! And best of all he...

New Senior Iplehouse Doll (the Model) reviewed by Sianserais (link)

Image
You need to be a Den of Angels member, but if you are, you can see a truly excellent posing review of the new Iplehouse SID model body here by Sianserais . She not only demonstrated different poses, but tells the small details necessary to get those poses--what to turn, what works, and what doesn't. As you can see from the above photo, the new body is much lighter and more flexible than the old one! Also a bit slimmer, so some heads will look larger than they used to on the new body.

Iplehouse Bella, H.I.D. Woman

Just a link--all the pix are pretty much Not Safe For Work. Although it says she is 65 cm tall I think that can't be right, as she is taller than the EID in the clip. In any case she is a big, good-looking date for the H.I.D. guy, or if you need a stand-alone goddess or towering partner for the smaller dolls. I think she is probably closest to the Soom Idealian in size and style. I was a little disappointed that she wasn't obviously a "Superhero" muscled female, because those are hard to find, unless you do 1/6 scale. :( YouTube Bella

Iplehouse Hands, Feet, and Horns

Image
Iplehouse is doing a fantasy parts sale! Here is the notice: Hello, this is Iplehouse. On flood of requests, we decided to release fantasy parts (hands, feet and horns) from from Jan.12th - Jan.18th. During the period you can order fantasy parts separately without the doll, so if you have been looking for fantasy parts do not miss this chance! - Wing parts will not be offered since they require special torso. - EID Demon parts, YID_Boy hands, BID horns will not be offered. Thank you for your time. The claw hands are very elegant; they are modified NYID hands (at least the ones that came with Bianca were that way).

A dress at Iplehouse

Image
It's shown on "Harace" and while I have no real use for it, I think it's awesome. (No one here wears that style of dress. we're all freaky gothy fantasy, 18th century, and SF peeps here.) It also shows what I think Iplehouse dolls are the best at--looking fabulous posed quietly against some sumptuous background. They aren't really action figure types like the Granado dolls are.

Arrgh Iplehouse!

Image
It's pirates, matey, over at Iplehouse..having drained Vampires of all their liquid funds, Iplehouse has hoisted the Black Flag and prepares to raid your bank accounts. There is a rumor of mermaids, too. This new girl Bliss is, I think, a NYID cutie--if you are a member you can look at selected portions of her face on the site (you have to log in). If they will have cutlasses for sale, my name will be on one for sure--the cutlass I was making out of cardboard is not looking too great. I just hope I don't have to buy a fullset SID to get one! :o

Shane Gray

Rumor has it that Iplehouse is thinking of adding "Gray" to the list of resins available in their Custom Doll System. It's just a rumor, but a fun one--during the first fifteen days of the month right now, you can do a "mix and Match" of heads and bodies with your choice of resins of (this is from memory, so I may miss one or two) White, Normal, Peach Gold,Realskin, Light Tan, and Ebony. Because I had Photoshop open anyway I took a few minutes and decolorized 3 random Iplehouse dolls, ones that just happen to be ones I am interested in :D. Here is Ashanti, who looks stunning in anything: A gray Stella: And a gray Soo: The real dolls (assuming Iplehouse does add gray) will look much better since the makeup will be adjusted to fit the gray, instead of me fooling with sliders in Pshop.

Iplehouse Doria

Image
Iplehouse did a redesign of the big EID bodies (new joints) and is now rolling them out along with a new "story"; originally titled "Bloody Tales of Bran", which caused some fits of giggling on Den of Angels as one person said "it sounds like an unpleasant breakfast item", upon which the titling mysteriously shifted to "Bloody Tales of Castle Bran", which I like much more, since it implies that there are a group of people in one place, misbehaving. Doria is fun because she has an extra head, a totally over-the-top, Immortality-of Soul type vampire head including wild horns AND pointy ears. It's like some of Soom leaked over to Iplehouse. I don't need a fab vampirette, though her new cousin Aaliyah is tempting--and now of course I am waiting to see if Aaliyah has a spare head, too. The english-version of Iplehouse is Iplehouse.net, by the way, not .com as the photo shows..and understandably, the servers over there are reeeeeally slow. I...

I saw this image as a tiny thumbnail in an unrelated image search, and I thought, "That looks like an Iplehouse Aurora"; and when I brought up the full-sized image, I thought "wow, that is a beautiful painting of Aurora, done in Painter"(?). I backtracked the link to a Korean art blog, where Google Translate did a really bad attempt at translating, so much so I am not even sure of the artist's name--but he or she paints Iplehouse dolls like they should be presented, and the art is wonderful. I like Painter paintings anyway--the software lets the artist's own personal style show, and I love the skill this artist has! And they seem to like ball jointed dolls too. And cats. :D As a side note, why is it Google Translate can go through a page in Russian and even translate the jokes pretty well, while a straightforward complaint on a Korean blog about having one's car towed is barely understandable? Why, Google? At least art doesn't need translation--...

Korean Weather Delays

Image
Resinsoul, a Den of Angels member, had a chance to pick up her dolls directly from Iplehouse while she was visiting in Seoul. Iplehouse very wisely lets the occasional customer tour around the showroom and upstairs meeting rooms, and the word gets around about how Iplehouse works and how the sculpts are developed, all of which makes Iplehouse fans very happy, even occasional customers like me. Apparently things have been running behind this winter--I hadn't noticed it from Iplehouse, because I have nothing on order from them right now, but I have been full of ants for my Soom doll to come, and I may have to wait a little longer. Here's part of Resinsoul's post: Here is where I had to ask the question...Delays? What was up? And I already knew the answer. Weather and logistics! South Korea has had the coldest winters in about 40 years. This is confirmed too by news reports and my close Korean friend. It was so cold all week I was there and rained two whole days. Even in the...

I am expecting a box from Korea today.

Denzel arrives

And he is the coolest. Around 7 pounds of Korean engineering. (This reminds me I need to go get groceries today.)
