Mom sent us some slippers, and instead of the usual cardboard box and tissue, they came in these awesome velvet bags! So I have been saving them to make a doll dress--there was even enough of the faux fur trim to do the top as well as the bottom of the overdress. The burgundy satin will be an underdress, with long bell sleeves; and the velvet overdress will lace together in the front. Tinsley's wig is new (from Ebay) and needs a tiny bit of evening up on the bangs--it's a size 7-8. 8/11 more dress progress: The rings are sold at JoAnns for "chain mail" and they are very soft--I bend them shut, close the gap with nail polish, and bury the gap side under trim. They are washable and lightweight, and strong enough for doll clothes. I wouldn't use them on human costumes ...unless I was making chain mail, and then it's cheaper to use a dowel and a dremel and cut up your own wire. Wire comes in fun colors now.

All done! The trim is just wrapped around, I think I should have sewn it to the cover fabric at the start, but I didn't think of it until the cover was all glued down. Those corner things are awesome, they bend easily and really neaten up the corners. I'm going to make one more for Dollhausen; way back a few years ago he made me the most awesome dollie coffin ever -- but the only dolls that would fit were not vampires and refused to sleep in it, so I converted it to a couch . But I have gotten so much use out of it I would love to make him a book. He's got a whole crew of Edward Gorey dolls over at his place in Seattle, so they could use at least one grimoire and maybe more ;) He also has an Ausley Love so beautiful that I am rethinking my opinion of the Ausley head. (Dollhausen has Alexis in a large wig), and Ausley just looks great as a creeper: I don't know if he paints them himself, but I am guessing yes. I'm going to see if I can get the Fractal Forge E...

So I bought Pinkie (who is really a XinLan at Loongsoul) from Arekushia--I think Arekushia might have ordered her directly from Loongsoul, and then not been fond of her in person, but Arekushia sold XinLan to me at an excellent price, and I thought I would put my Fairyland Seian head on the body, since I like LS bodies a lot. And the LS bodies do not have magnet feets. By the way, this is the SMALL BUST. Under no circumstances do you need the Large Bust, unless you have two toddler hats that you need to store somewhere. Look at the superb packing Arekushia did. You should buy from her :D She is anime-addict on Ebay. So I hooked together the body, and got my Seian head on the body... and the head did not match. Seian is a bit older and yellower and it was a Nope. So I unwrapped that little bundle in the upper right hand corner of the photo above and awww, what a cute little head! So I put it on the body, swapped out the pink rabbit eyes for slightly darker purplish ones, ...

At least she has a face--the eye makeup is a little heavier than I normally do, but maybe that is just her style. I ordered her a wig from Beijing, so she will have to wear this one for a while--it's actually too large at size 8. I told you she had a teeny head :D. J made the chair she is sitting on.

Here's a really bad photo of Ausley Love--it was storming like crazy when she arrived (I had to hold an umbrella over the carrier so the carrier wouldn't drown getting the box out of the truck) and I haven't really had a chance to take better photos yet. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be nice,  so I will try to get some then. This girl belonged to Siriusstar and is the original size and shape of Ausley--she has the "Dollshe ribcage," and is much smaller overall than the new big version of her. (Isa/ Sicktress' Deesse is on the newer Ausley Love body, with the Glamour Bust). Though it's hard to see, this is the Medium Bust, and one of the first things I did was to swap this for the Small Bust, because Miss Ausley is a pinhead. She really is. She is almost as small as the Souldoll Dark Agnes head in the back. But the smallest bust and poofy hair balances her smol head. Isa, Sicktress' Deesse head in gray, is on a Dollshe body (I think it once had an Amanda Beauty head on it, but I am not sure.) I love tall girls, and this is such a pretty, wonderfully posing body. The catch is that Dollshe is notoriously slow in casting and delivering (one year waits are common..unless you happen to hit a weird sale or find a body on the second-hand market.) They are also really expensive..unless you find a friend who is tired of bumping a perfect good Ausley Love on the Den of Angels Marketplace and puts a very low price on the doll. Then if you just happen to have money in your payPal account from selling something else, you might just buy a second Dollshe doll. Supposedly Ausley will be shipped out on Friday, and it will take about a week to get here.
