Downers Grove Ice

We went to Downers Grove Wednesday for sushi, and discovered that Downers Grove had ice sculptures all over town. It's been cold enough to keep them in good shape, too. This one is an ice skating owl, in honor of the Olympics. Not sure why an owl--maybe I missed this year's mascot. Anyway, there was plenty of non-human ice sculpture going on--most of the buildings have icicles, and some are huge!

I wish this one had come out sharper, it's a film noir fire escape covered with a waterfall of ice. Pretty cool. :D
