Julia Cross' Ludwig

Image
After being in hiatus for something like...4 years? Julia Cross of La Legende De Temps finished up Ludwig, painted him up, and will be offering him as a full doll in May of 2016. I believe it when I see it, but you can read the Notice and see body photos here .

Horth at Moon Shadow

This is a cover (and it may get revisions, I don't know yet) for an upcoming novella (in paperback) by Craig Bowlsby. It's an adventure story set in the Okal Rel universe of Lynda Williams, where Horth Nersal (as a junior Navy officer) crash-lands on a remote, crumbling space station-- and discovers it's very much inhabited...and not friendly. When the Okal Rel property was owned by Hades Publications, I did a few of the covers in the series, and there is a format--a single character on a geometric background for each title. Lynda Williams has bought back the property and is planning on re-issuing the books; so they should be easier to find in the US-- so I wanted to keep the "look" the same as the previous series, but make the design more a natural part of the image instead of a designer pattern overlaid on the image. I had several challenges on this one--first off, I just had no reference--I tried setting up a Poser figure to get a general idea of the lighti...

Mini-Dragon

Image
I think I have joint custody of this guy--as long as I spoil him, he will deign to stay here even though it's crowded and not what he's used to. I did get him a Beachgirl cloak. :D He's painted by Francesca and I need to do a detail photo of him in good light so his amazing painting shows. I think he also needs a wig that shows off his ears, much as I love this one.

The Iplehouse Cat Arrives!

Image
Thank goodness it was assembled--when I opened the box I was sure it was in kit form! But no, it was in kitten form. :D I need to read how to change the eyes, though. It's fairly posable--you do have to tug on the forelegs to move them (it's strung pretty tight), and it can do a lot of catlike poses. The only thing it can't do is bend it's paws all the way forward--I have a couple ideas to fix that, but I have to be comfortable with unstringing it and I need more elastic before I try it. I think it's the cutest thing ever! Here is the scale of the cat with it's owner, Captain Aldwood; who is a 65+cm Granado Davon ( I think he is on the 68cm Long Leg body). So this is Ratbane, the ship's cat. :D

Withdoll Angela

Image
Rather surprisingly, I am now the owner of a Dark Elf Withdoll Angela. She is mini sized, about the same size and shape as a Tonner fashion doll, which for me is ..tiny. Tiny little hands, tiny size 10 mm eyes, though 12mm fit too if you don't mind a larger iris. She is beautifully made, and sharp and clean inside. I can't mess up her elastic as I have none that size--maybe 3mm or smaller. She has magnet hands, which I am not really crazy about as I can't lose these--I think Withdoll no longer makes this color, and I am her 4th owner. So far I have sort of a face for her: Also a pair of eyes, drying right now (pupilless glitter eyes) And hopefully this Saturday I can sew her some basics, and eventually a more complicated outfit. I did pick out a name for her by opening up a dictionary; so meet "Nike Pinecone, Dark Elf Magic User." The name cracks me up, but I am grateful for the dictionary's help. Otherwise she would have been "Rosy Brown", her o...
