Some Measurements for the New Super Gem Female Body (in cm)

Image
On the left here is the old Super Gem Body (A Soom Monthly Doll Cass) and on the right is the new body in the form of the Cuprit Soulmate (in bronze). The old body measurements can be found on the Soom site, on the left hand side of the screen under the FAQ , but as you can see the new measurements are slightly different, so I selected the ever-patient Tatiana, and did some measuring on my own. I like doing these photos because you can see where I measured, which helps some for making clothes. Personally I have to have the doll in hand to do a good job at creating patterns (especially pants) but this will at least give you an idea of the size. The new bodies ARE smaller than the old ones ! -- The waist on the new body is 17.5 cm. --The bust is 26.5. --The hip is 26.5. --The thigh at the top of the Easy Pose piece is 16cm. --The calf is 11.5 cm. For pants, by the way, the inseam measurement I got, crotch to ankle, was 31cm. -- The crotch depth around was 23 cm. Here is the waist-t...

More Coffee Noellias

Image
Dear Soom fans Thank you so much for your deep interest in our new girl, black Noellia. We have decided to add 30 doll more (black skin) as you wishes :) Please check it out here => http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1420533681 Thank you for your attention, and have a lovely day! Best regards, Haylie, SOOM Soom originally limited her to 50 sets, most likely because casting dark resin is such a pain--the heavier pigment load makes the resin dry faster and it tends to bubble, which is why I think Soom is just doing it for these tiny things. You can end up with a lot of swirling and grainy coloring, too. The black Simply Divine hooves I have were only achieved after 4 separate casts and tossing the first 3 sets, and Liz (Simply Divine) said she wasn't 100 percent satisfied with the ones I have, though I love them and I can't see any problems with them. My dream would be to own a coffee resin Beryl with mint green clear hooves; but Soom, if you make her, let ...

Doll Clothes from Dorset!

Image
Those are stretch velour pants! They are so wonderful to put on--no fuss, fit perfectly, and a gorgeous velvety texture! I also love the top, I want to find more fabric with these neon colors to make 80's glam space kitten stuff for Bex. :D Hot pink! Orange! Electric blue! (All the colors, coincidentally, that look horrible on me, so I am so glad to have dolls that can parade around in them. Here is more fun stuff--metallic leggings: Shiny, shiny metallic leggings (hand wash cold, if at all) And Simone even sent a little knitty scarf/boa, which Tanglewyn immediately claimed: And one extra photo of Bex: I received one more EID shirt (with polka dots!) but the dollie recipient was strangely unwilling to wear it, so I may take it in a little to fit the New Soom Girl body and let my rockabilly android Cherry wear it instead. Dolls are so fussy.

Granado Photo Contest Winter 2015!

Image
Yes, it's another photo contest, the theme is open for whatever, and it can't be something posted before anywhere. It needs to be less than two megabytes, show Granado dolls (no rolling heads, but hybrids are ok, and be a jpeg. Limit of 5 images. Pro tip-- they seem to like dark stuff, and stuff that shows how well the Granado dolls pose. Here is the link to the Notice . The prize is a head, and some discounts--it's all good.

More Tauriel (Simplicity 1347)

Image
We ended up getting a costume pattern to make something like the rest of Tauriel's outfit--the plaid belt you see here is the back of what will be the "real belt", which will be made of the same soft pleather the bracers are made of. The pattern was designed to be easy to sew but I hated the way they handled the waist elastic, and be sure you buy single fold , not double fold, 7/8 bias tape for the casing or you will be messed up. The belt and bracers pattern parts are cool, though. K did most of the work cutting out the squishy jersey fabric, and I just assembled. The pattern makes the skirt long, and then expects you to just cut it to whatever length you want; and it's good to get fabric that doesn't need hemming as the pattern assumes you won't put in a skirt hem on this view. The other views would make a cute nightgown or even a crop top (it has some Daenarys stuff put in there as well as the "coincidentally looks like Tauriel" version A. G...

Thank you for your time. The claw hands are very elegant; they are modified NYID hands (at least the ones that came with Bianca were that way).

A Solo Dia Head

Image
Soom is offering another loose head , this time the Romantic version of Dia (a Romantic head is sort of a "dreaming eyes" head, with the eyes partly closed.) She is gorgeous but I have a Dia and need room for other things at the moment, though I may regret not getting her later. She is painted so beautifully now, too!
