Sickress' Deesse

Image
Sicktress finished up her artist's head, primered it, and sent it off to Harucasting to be cast up, and we had the fun of seeing Deesse go into, and come out of, the mold! Harucasting's Tumblr is so much fun. :D Sicktress did a small set of 10, and I was very fortunate to be able to get one. Even better, Sicktress painted mine! My head is a Celtic goddess, so Sicktress put a little Celtic triskele on her. Not surprisingly, Danu looks amazing in green. My only problem is that the Impldoll Idol body I was going to put her on  has a neck slightly too large to take Deesse's head. And it also really belongs to Erzulie; but I was hoping they could share.  So I looked around to test sizes, and the next best thing (though the wrong color) was a junky Soom body that I have as a spare; so I did a small photoshoot with that today: I think she's gorgeous--I just need to get in a 70 cm Mirodoll girl body--it still will need a bit of color adjusting, but it will be in a d...

Granado Photos

Image
This was my favorite of the photos I entered-it's three photos; one of the Du Page river bank(for the rocks and the snake in the middle right), one of Teodor in my backyard above the pond before I filled it in, and a final one of Alexei in a box at more or less the right angle. And yes, my pond did have ice on it! The skull is a tiny plastic skull from the Spirit of Halloween. This one is just a portrait: Another "just a cropped portrait" of Aldwood and the Cat: And a fancy one of Sidonia/ Ami on a very windy day ;) I had ambitions to do much more elaborate photoshoots, but it ended up I had paying work to do instead, so it worked out fine--there is always next year to do more! I hope everyone checks out the other entries and the winners !

I might have chosen the second place  Star Wars entry to be no. 1 myself, but that is just because I am a fan --and I thought the outfit and setting were super. I will put up my own entry pix here tomorrow since I don't have to keep them foldered now.

Monday Already

Image
Angela here looks pretty much like I did this morning..sweats and a dressing gown, with her own doll (a very messed-up Liliana Vess I got off a sale table). If you buy your own Liliana, be sure that she is Removed From Box and that she is functionally movable. We are all recovered from last week's food poisoning episode, but I'm still tired--I did manage to do the floors and the kitchen, and do a few hours of actual work on the computer: but I didn't get around to dyeing a doll body, finishing a wig I am working on, or either painting Snow White/Ashley or sewing a overdress for Deesse, Sicktress' girl, who might be here Wednesday. J did finish the blanket chest, aka The Ark of the Covenant: It should hold most of our blankets over the summer--I need to get some more lavender bags to throw in there as well. I also got some fun mail--a box of wonder from Chalyss, full of gorgeous batik clothing (!) and a box from Pegapup, containing a doll that we have been passin...

Box From Australia

Image
I occasionally buy dolls from Australia--it's never a problem, except for the punishing postage fees, and it's usually about 2 weeks. This box, possibly delivered by crocodile, took only a week. Thavron (her first owner) is fly to the ways of the post, and wrapped everything very, very carefully: And after some unwrapping, here is her head! This is the Soom Snow White (the Shadow, human version in a rosy gray). She came with extra hands and one-piece heel feet; which I would have put on, but the elastic was already cut to fit on the conventional legs so I was lazy and just put those on instead when I assembled her. I noticed that the hip/pelvis hole was drilled large enough to fit the knot through on this body, so stringing the legs was a lot easier--this girl also had the wonderful Easy Pose pieces. It's a wonderful body in so many ways, and this particular one was well-cast, too. Here she is with a Withdoll Angela ("Rosy Brown", which is mostly gray ...

Soom Bramble Sprite Rick

Image
Soom has just decided to go nuts in all categories (there is a Special Order Chalco too--I suspect they will spend the next 4 months trying to catch up on orders), but I have to say this might be my favorite --these little guys are so perfect! And Rick comes with tiny shoes! Now that was smart on Soom's part! You can buy the outfit separately for you older Sprites, too. I almost think you need to go get some resin rocks to complete his habitat. :D

Thranduil, Cake and a Box

Image
This is a Thranduil/Minimee Lee Pace from a Russian artist "Owl", and here is the OwlsMoorBjd Etsy, though it's not populated at the moment: https://www.etsy.com/shop/OwlsMoorBjd?ref=unav_listing-r And here is Owl's Flickr: Sleep-Owl I'm Thranduil's third owner, I got him from Loptr on Den of Angels, and he is Mighty Fine. A nice sized head too--not tiny, not huge; a pleasant, pale Normal Pinky. He will probably need custom eyes though, as none of the ones I have here quite fit his eyewells. We haven't done a lot here--somehow we all picked up some stomach bug somewhere and spent Wednesday feeling pretty terrible, but today was better, and K did some crafts, including painting a box: I also goofed around with Luna, and succeeded in making her hair a mess--I need to set her wig/hair in some kind of curlers. We did go out long enough to poke around at the Craft Store that Will Not Be Named and find the ship's wheel I have been trying to find elsew...
