I bought these because Aunt Doreen, as she was known in some tarot circles, always had the best art, and the art in this deck is really fun--it's a lot of romantic Victorian paintings clipped apart and reassembled with new painting by Howard David Johnson, and it looks great. As a tarot deck, it's ..kind of treacly. Now I have had other decks by Virtue, including Mermaids and Dolphins and the Goddess Guidance Cards, and they are unrelentingly upbeat and positive, and sometimes you need that. But I have to say that fairies are..well, let's say traditionally they are not all sunshine and unicorn farts. Doreen Virtue herself has now become very Christian and says she plans to read all of the Bible from beginning to end, which is sort of...hmm.
