Poserworld Reopens

Poserworld was an online marketplace for poser-format models; when Smith Micro lost interest in Poser, it kind of kicked the stuffing out of a lot of side marketplaces for the add-on models. Renderosity bought Poser this year and immediately went about fixing a lot of things, updating it and added La Femme as the default figure that comes with the program.

(That is a prop scone from a tea set I have :D)

I use both Daz and Poser-- and I have to say I use Daz because the base program is free, and I already have a lot of the content; but in many ways Poser is a better, more stable program that runs in a cleaner, more compact way. I have a computer dedicated to Daz Studio because the damn thing wouldn't run on anything less than a Nvidia900 series card, and it would really like one of the Nvidia10 series. Poser runs fast and fine on a Win 7 machine that I have had for almost 7 years with whatever AMD card Costco felt like putting in there.

Anyway, poserworld is run by these folks:

PoserWorld was closed for a year as the site went a overhaul by its new co-owners Peter Martin, Dream Cutter LLC, of San Diego CA & John Hoagland of Vanishing Point Inc of Orlando FL Together we bring you decades of product development and artist brokering experience with unwavering service dedicated to the Poser Artist 3d modeling communities.

And this is what they are hoping to accomplish this year:

What to expect at the new PoserWorld this season?

All New Poser 3D Content including Animals, Environments, Buildings and Vehicles with a big focus on animation and 3d pipeline versatility.

We will expand our format selection to include E-On Software Vue content (vob, vom & mat)

PoserWorld Announces Expanded 3D Use Licence Terms to allow for Game & WebGL

New PoserWorld Forums  We ask participants to be polite, but beyond that its very loosely moderated and we don't fret from critical or competitive industry talk.

PoserWorld Blog featuring Poser & Vue scene building, animation, and rendering tips.

You can buy Vanishing Point models at Renderosity, and I have a LOT of them as they are relatively low poly and fast rendering. Looks like they will be a bit cheaper if purchased from Poserworld.

Anyway, this is what I did with the little fighter you see at the top of the post:

I did some kitbashing with another little Vanishing Point fighter for this image, it was fun :D
