Hair and Austenland
Yesterday I took K to Salon Ruelle, which in reviews is "the best hair dyeing place in Chicagoland", and she had her hair done, and it was indeed fine. Not only did the stylist have an accurate idea of how long it would take, it was less expensive than it has been at other places. We also went and rented some movies I hadn't seen, including Midnight in Paris (very cute) and Austenland, which we ended up watching on K's computer because the cruddy little 30 dollar dvd finally stopped working halfway through Midnight and we had to do the "unplug and reboot" just to get the disc out of the machine. Austenland was very funny--I think some of the lines were ad-libbed and we laughed so hard we cried at Miss Elizabeth Charming.(Jennifer Coolidge). IMDB gave it only 6.5 stars and as a romance it was not super-- but as a comedy it was great.
The costumes were amazing.
